I just purchased my Siren MP3 player yesterday, but the menu button doesn't work. I've tried holding it down, pressing it over and over, etc. The backlight comes on, and when I put the lock key on and press the menu button I get the messages that my key lock is on. So it appears that the MP3 player recognizes that I'm pressing the menu button, but I can't get the menu to come up. I've tried just about everything but cannot get a menu to come up with the menu button. The player plays music in the shuffle mode. I also can't get the STOP button to work -- I have to use pause to stop playing a song.

I think holding down menu and the record button at the same time should fix it. I read the best solution and it just turned on. I was having the same problem, mine would not turn on either but just try pressing and holding down the record and menu button for about 5 seconds.
Hold down the center and menu buttons at the same time. If that doesn ot work...switch the hold over to hold and back off and try holding the center and menu buttons down again.
I had the same problem when I purchased this for my son. I called the place where I purchased it from to return it, they requested a call tag from UPS, then after 1 more try, I turned it on and was able to get the menu button to work and went through some of the different functions and it started working again. I would suggest just experimenting with some of the controls and see if that maybe will trigger something in it. Ever since then, it has worked fine.
Try windows Recovery Mode first: Try this: disconnect the player from the
computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to
the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume +
button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into
recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found
New Hardware Wizard.
