No adjustment is necessary on any of the Bernina 1000 series machines due to the flat advancing of the feed dog mechanism. This is the same mechanism as existed on the Bernina 530 thru the 930 series where no presser bar compression adjustment was necessary.
If you have a problem it could be that the presser bar is sticking due to oil varnish. If so, this varnish can be cleaned off to allow a swift up and down response of the presser bar.
If you think you still have a problem, I would ask for advice regarding the fabric being sewn.
If you are sewing on a large quilt for example, you must support the quilt so that there is no weight does pulling against the feed dog.

SOURCE: Bernina Virtuosa 150 and uneven layers or bulk.

Hi I have a 15 year old Frister Rossmann serger which I got second hand 10 years ago. It has had one break down which was my fault for not getting it serviced for 8 years. Not sure where in world you are. They sell as Frister Rossmann in UK and Europe and Kenmore in the US. I've used it mainly for dressmaking and soft furnishing projects. One more thought on the Bernina have you tried leaving a query / searching on the US Bernina website www.berninausa.com I use them alot. Try and stick with getting the Bernina sorted, I love mine! SOURCE: irregular stitches

If you mean irregular length it may be the arm that holds the feed teeth ha sworked loose slightly to see if this is it the faster you go on a max stitch length the shorter it gets. If this is the case tilt the machine head back and see were the arm is fixed at the rear sholud be 2 screws that go on to a long arm running the length of the machine and make sure these are tight. This should help.

SOURCE: Feed dogs don't want to feed.

Sounds like the feed dog height is not set correctly. You could fix it yourself but you would need a dealers service manual and there is a height gauge that should be used although I have set them by eye...and experience.
Bernina's are fantastic machines and I have yet to find even one that is a lemon. Just like finding a good auto mechanic, you need to find someone that actually knows more than how to blow off lint and apply oil.
Your problem should be a low cost quick fix/adjustment that can be accomplished by a knowledgeable and skilled technician.
Good luck finding one!! Bill

The pressure foot on my bernina bernette 715 won't move

Troubleshoot this. Here are some steps you can take:

Safety Setting Adjustment:
In newer firmware versions (V9.xx), a safety sewing setting was added to prevent the ruler foot from hitting the needle holder when the foot is hovering and the needle is down.
If your presser foot only raises slightly (about 2mm), it might be due to this safety setting.

To resolve this, change the setting from the maximum of 2mm to a maximum of 6mm.
Remember to switch it back to the original setting when using the ruler foot.

Check the Needle Position:
Ensure that the needle is in the highest position (raised) before attempting to move the presser foot.
If the needle is down, the presser foot may not move freely.

Inspect for Obstructions:
Examine the area around the presser foot for any obstructions, tangled threads, or debris.
Make sure there's nothing preventing the presser foot from moving smoothly.

Presser Foot Pressure Adjustment:
Uneven fabric feed can occur if the pressure on the presser foot is too high or too low.
Adjust the presser foot pressure according to the thickness of the fabric you're working with.

Power Cycle and Reconnect:
Turn off the machine and disconnect it from the power source.
Reconnect it and power it back on.

Refer to the Manual:
Consult your Bernina Bernette 715 user manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to the presser foot. If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may have to take it to a professional repair service.

How do I adjust the presser foot shank on the Bernina 790

Difficult to understand your question. Why would you need to adjust a presser foot shank? It should either work on your machine or not. If it is the wrong presser foot, then you should get the correct one. The only adjustments I've heard being made on Bernina presser feet is to adapt a presser foot for an older machine to a newer machine, or vice versa. That involves making a permanent modification to the latch apparatus.

How to raise the feed dog to grab the fabric better

Most Berninas have adjustable presser foot pressure. The new machines are pretty obvious as Bernina has added dials that do that. The older machines, you have to look for a screw above the needle bar that will loosen or tighten the pressure. There is usually a long spring associated with it.

This is a picture of a 930 oiling diagram. But, if you look at the arrow second red arrow from the left (top picture), points to the adjustment screw on the 930. You might find something similar for your machine.

Bernina nova foot pressure

The presser foot pressure is not adjustable on the 900 Nova and is not necessary with any Bernina models from the 117L through the 1630 series. If the presser foot bar is sticking so that it is sluggish to respond to the needle plate, the presser bar and bushings will need to be cleaned of oil varnishes in order to function properly. (99.9% of the problem)
The other potential problem although unusual, is that the machine frame has been damaged from a drop or impact, causing the presser bar frame bearings to be out of alignment, hence a sticking shaft condition. You do not want to attempt to correct this as you will likely ruin the machine. Suggest contacting a specialist

Thread balls up under plate I think it is the shuttle tension, but I havent used it in years,it worked fine then. I did oil the area under the shuttle to se if that worked. It still balls up Bernini...

HI
We have about 100 of these machines in the schools around out city. so I know a bit about the 1008/ 1020 Bernina machines.
Sometimes the tension discs get sticky if you have not used the machine in some time.
raise the presser foot then check to see if the disc in the center of the top tension is sort of loose as you try to move it slightly/
-be sure the top thread is securly in the tension when you thread the machine. after putting hte thread through the top tension, pull on it slightly while the presser foot is in the top tension and it should be loose.
now lower the presser foot and now pull on the thread it should now have some resistance.

Now check the bottom tension on the bobbin case and be sure the bobbin rotates easily when you put in the bobbin whilst putting the thread under the bobbin case tension spring. The tension at this point shold be fairly easy to pull from the bobbin case.

if this still does not help,
remove the shuttle/hook (see instrutions at bact of instruction book. check to see if there are any nicks in the shuttle. if there is then use emery cloth of some fine crocus cloth to refinish and make the pointed part of the shuttle very smooth.
That should do it, if not contact me at [email protected]

I have an 1130 bernina and love it! with all fabric types the top material is not moving along with the bottom material when sewing seams. the lighter fabrics are puckering and the seams are anywhere...

The 1130 does not have a consumer adjustable presser foot. Check to be sure you are using the correct presser foot .Some feet are slightly different in height which is how the pressure is regulated. If this is not your problem it will need to be seen by a technician.
