Is there a way to adjust the presser foot pressure on a Bernini 1008?
No adjustment is necessary on any of the Bernina 1000 series machines due to the flat advancing of the feed dog mechanism. This is the same mechanism as existed on the Bernina 530 thru the 930 series where no presser bar compression adjustment was necessary.
If you have a problem it could be that the presser bar is sticking due to oil varnish. If so, this varnish can be cleaned off to allow a swift up and down response of the presser bar.
If you think you still have a problem, I would ask for advice regarding the fabric being sewn.
If you are sewing on a large quilt for example, you must support the quilt so that there is no weight does pulling against the feed dog.
Can you describe problem

Hi I have a 15 year old Frister Rossmann serger which I got second hand 10 years ago. It has had one break down which was my fault for not getting it serviced for 8 years. Not sure where in world you are. They sell as Frister Rossmann in UK and Europe and Kenmore in the US. I've used it mainly for dressmaking and soft furnishing projects. One more thought on the Bernina have you tried leaving a query / searching on the US Bernina website www.berninausa.com I use them alot. Try and stick with getting the Bernina sorted, I love mine! SOURCE: irregular stitches
If you mean irregular length it may be the arm that holds the feed teeth ha sworked loose slightly to see if this is it the faster you go on a max stitch length the shorter it gets. If this is the case tilt the machine head back and see were the arm is fixed at the rear sholud be 2 screws that go on to a long arm running the length of the machine and make sure these are tight. This should help.

Sounds like the feed dog height is not set correctly. You could fix it yourself but you would need a dealers service manual and there is a height gauge that should be used although I have set them by eye...and experience.
Bernina's are fantastic machines and I have yet to find even one that is a lemon. Just like finding a good auto mechanic, you need to find someone that actually knows more than how to blow off lint and apply oil.
Your problem should be a low cost quick fix/adjustment that can be accomplished by a knowledgeable and skilled technician.
Good luck finding one!! Bill
