There could be a screw on each bottom coner of the front panel. If not, take a putty knife (1 1/2" or 2"wide) Slide it between the lid and the front panel. You should fill a clip about 4" or 5" from corner. Pull putty knife out and then use it to push into each clip while pulling slightly on the front panel. Front will come off a corner at a time. From here you will be able to access everything.
You are most likely going to find that the plastic outer tub is cracked and all four round rubber straps located at the top of the tub broken. If so, you will be better off to replace machine because of the cost of a new outer tub and the labor required to replace it. If you chose to replace tub, you will need a tub wrench. The last one I bought was $68.00 15 years ago.

I have a ge profile washer machine washes and spins but wont drain

Hi.

Disconnect power, then locate the access to drain pump. On GE top loader the pump access is usually at the back, sometimes at the bottom. Disconnect the hose from the pump and remove any blockage in there.

Check also the height of the drain hose at the back and ensure that the hose is set according to manual. An drain hose set incorrectly will result in drain problems.

If that does not fix the problem, clean or replace the pressure switch and pressure hose that detects water level determining when to start and stop draining.

Regards.

Every time we wash there is water leaking, not sure were the water is coming from. i have checked the hose.

Hi.

Check that the leak is not coming from inlet valve itself. If the leak is from underneath the washer check drain pump hoses. You may need to disassemble the washer pulling up the top panel and accessing the drain pump at the bottom to find the leak.

I have a ge front loader washing machine. Only had it a year. It is sitting on the drawer station. My washing machine is leaking all around the bottom. I have no idea how long it has been leaking,. What is...

Plug off the wall mains. Open up the machine to first check the water hose coming to the machine, then the large hose going to the drum, then the exit hose bottom of the drum, then the pump & filter area. Surely you can locate where the leak is. Could be one of the hose has become loose. If torn or worn out you can replace, it is easy.

GE Drain Hose

Hi, Does this washer have to pump the water up into a drain? If it is possible, it would be better for the machine if you can bring the drin pipe closer to the washer. I know it is not always a possibilty. The longer the drain hose, the harder it is on the washer and sometimes the cloths don't spin out as dry as they will with a short drain hose.

GE Dishwasher leaking water in the bottom water pump

If it seems to be the water pump, it may be the hose, unless the pump cracked. You will have to pull the machine out, run a cycle and observe to see where the water is leaking from. If the pump housing is cracked you will need a new pump, but if it is only the hose, go to the hardware store and get an appropriate repalcement hose and a new clamp, if you do it yourself, otherwise call the repairman.

Water leaks under washer on floor - olderGE profile

I see Eric C was correct, that you did not post your correct model number. You did say older GE, and from your description it sounds like you need to replace the WH23X42 water pump (about $50). It is one 1/4 inch clamp on the bottom holding on the flexible drive, three 5/16 hex head screws mounting the pump body to machine, and four squeeze style spring clamps holding the hoses. (be ready to catch the water when you remove hoses)

GE Profile Washing Machine gurshing out water

Open the door and stretch the rubber seal to see if it is split.
It is possible that one of the two hoses feeding the pump have splits in them, only way is to turn power off at wall and with a couple of pints of water in lift machine at an angle prop it with solid objects i.e. wood and squash hoses with your hands MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF AT WALL Tim

Washer leaks small amount. DIY fix: check hoses and ???

Wires found in hose!
When we turned washer on it's side, we found the hose from the pump to the basket had been pierced by two stiff curved wires, still embedded in the hose. Water was leaking around the wires. Wires had come out of an underwire bra! Dealer had only heard of this once before; on his own washer!
MORAL: handwash your bras, ladies.... or pull those wires out each time.
