No you can't do that. The DVD remote is single frequency. The only multi-use remotes are those that come with cable and satellite boxes, or high end universal remotes with an LCD Screen. The television remote may control another Magnavox device, but it is a budget make.

RCA RCR 412S remote control has no setup codes with Magnavox TV/DVD combo. Just look for any other brand remote control. OK.

Where the code is listed as [**** ****]the first is for the TV and the second is for the DVD. Otherwise just the one code operates both the TV and the DVD.

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.

A universal remote should solve your problem. You should be able to find one on ebay. You may even be able to find one for your particular TV on ebay as well.

Universal remote does not work with Magnavox combo of dvd vcr, because no dubbing button. But magnavox has many remotes that will NB884, NB559, NB677.NB627 which also works on Sharp dvd vcr combo.

i am lookin for codes for a magnavox. i have a access 4 remote one in all.

This is interesting. I have the same TV/DVD combo, lost the original remote and have Verizon FiOS. I cannot get ANY code to work the TV on the universal FiOS remote, not even the Magnavox codes suggested by Phillips, the remote manufacturer.

ok first go to the DVD setup which should be located near the bottom of the remote is says SETUP. Then it will give you a list of options go to the one with the parental code one. Then you should try and change the password. My tvs old password was 8888 but I am not sure if it is the same on all tv's. If it is right then you should be able to change the password to whatever you want! I hope this helps anyone who sees this response!
