I recently acquired a Dell Optiplex GX620 MT that had an ATi 64mb PCIe video card installed in it. I added a DVDR drive, additional memoryand a NVidia 256mb PCIe video card and when starting the system up received no video. I installed the prior working ATi card and again received no video. When I connect the display to the on board video slot I have video and no errors at boot. Any ideas?
1.make sure that the video card that you use is really working
2.make sure that you connect the video card first before installing.
then after you connect the video card wait for the popup at the lower right of the screen then when you see a pop up that says driver not installed the put your installer then after installing the computer must be reboot or restart for you to be able to use the newly installed video card. if that still did not work send back your video card it my be static or it may not be compatible with your computer. but if the video card work try this, right click on the desktop then you will see the graphics card name if not your video card is not properly installed or broke. send me a message for more info.ty
If you have the PCIe card installed and boot the computer, do you still have video on the onboard connection? If so the two may be in conflict with each other. You may need to disable the onboard video card in order to get the newly installed card working.
Please reset *********** board cmos bios jumper before install your express card if it is good then show display
Thanks

Hello,
One of two things could be doing this:
1: Bad Video Cards
2: Bad PCIe slot(s)
If avaliable, I would test the video cards on a PC with a PCIe slot to verirfy if the cards are good/bad. If they work, your PCIe slot is bad and need to have the motherboard replace to correct.
Good Luck
