I presume this is the CMOS or BIOS password.
Turn the unit over and find the ram cover, remove the ram locate the two brass bars near where the ram was. Take a paper clip and bridge them to short out and reset bios password.

replace ram and turn on

That password is bios /cmos password.
Or you accidentally entered a password when you set the bios or the computer was shipped with that password.
To get rid of it, i recommend to use the reset jumper located on the mainboard, or you can pull out the cmos battery for at least 20 seconds.
Also try to upgrade your bios from toshiba website.

Suddenlt the A135-S2386 has started asking password even we have not entered any password

Yeah some mischievous kid probably put a password on purpose. however you can use Ophcrack to get rid of that password.
Ophcrack can be downloaded here http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

You might need some additional tools to use Ophcrack such as
1) a CD + a Isoburner (program)
2) a USB drive + UnetBootin (program)

How do I reset the password on my A135-S2386? When I turn on my computer, ther is a black screen with a blue box in the middle. It simply says "ENTER PASSWORD". If you do not enter the correct information,...

It sunds like you system BIOS is now password protected. Manufacturers often put in "backdoor" passwords which will work no matter what the user password is. In the case of a Toshiba computer, the backdoor password is Toshiba. Try that... if it works, go into your Bios and either disable the password protection OR change the password to something you desire.

If that doesn't work, follow this link to an article about clearing the BIOS password.

I turn my computer on and

Hi there

The black screen that appears before the booting asking for password shows that you have activated security password through BIOS settings.

If nothing is working implies that you don't remember the password or activated it accidentally.

The only solution to your problem is to get into the BIOS settings an deactivate the security password or reset the BIOS settings.

thank you

There is a black screen that comes up asking for a password

Somebody got into the bios and entered either a hard drive or a bios password. You will have to know which one it is.

Fix the bios problem

If your device is asking for a bios password then that means that someone has previously entered a bios password for the device. You need to access the cmos battery.....disconnect it.....then reconnect it...this will allow the password to leave the bios memory....DO ALL THIS WITH THE DEVICE OFF...

Default bios password toshiba satellite a135-s2276

what you need to do is pull both the laptop battery as well as the cmos battery. in some instances, the battery can be pulled, but on other models, i have seen the battery as an actual physical part on the motherboard or somewhere where it is not easily accessible, in which case you need to clear the cmos by using a jumper on the motherboard, since it is a laptop, they are all different. you may need to see if you can locate a copy of the motherboards schematics and go from there.
