Dell inspiron 1429 would not stop restarting

Three days ago my dell inspiron 1420 screen suddenly disappeared and the blue screen showed up and then restarted again. It restarted again and again and would not stop whenever I turn on the computer, then the blue screen showed up... It's been like that for 3 days. the blue screen's already showed up over 30 times. I didn't even have time to react then it restarted again.
My is rather new. I hardly used them. How could this be? and what should I do?
Everyone said the hard drive has problems, but I don't know.

Hit f8 when Xp boots . Then select "Disable automatic restart on system failure". After that tell me the error code.

The blue screen is known as the screen of death for a reason. You can try getting it fixed but most likely you'll need to replace it.

I have reinstalled windows 7 in my dell laptop model number 1420 inspiron and now there is no sound detected

Sound has this funny way of behaving sometimes.
This happened with me with the sound in Skype disappeared suddenly one day.
I used all I could think of possile and not possible.
In the end I downloaded Skype again-that did it.
You might try a new sound in your laptop.
Then look through the manual look in troubleshooing.

On start up the screen will flash running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on Dell Inspiron 1420

Try to change the resolution of your computer to lower, restart the computer and see if the problem still exist. if the problem still exist try to reinstall the video driver of your computer. don't rewrite the driver of the video device, uninstall the driver then install again. if any thing happens feel to reply. Nvidia card on dell 1420 no image on screen on boot up

Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking by continuously pressing F8 at Dell logo. Go to the Nvidia website and download the latest drivers for your machine. If you are experiencing no video whatsoever, then either the screen needs to be replaced or a connection is loose or not working behind the screen.

I have lost the brightness on the screen. It sees to be 50% of what it was. It just seemed to go suddenly dim. Have I done something stupid and not realized it. (Highly probable!). Inspiron 6400 3.5 years...

hit the blue Fn button and look on the keyboard keys for brightness setting. if it is turned all the way up its possible one of the flourecent lights has burned out behind the screen

I owned a Dell(inspiron 1420) touchpad is not functioning at all!

Try going into Control Panel, Mouse, Tapping and turn it all off.
Set the sensitivity to as low as you can.
The key combination should be Fn & F9, look for a button on the function row that has a finger pointing at a box :)

Problem in os

Try starting explorer by going to file\new task (run..) and typing explorer.

If it doesnt work, just type msconfig on the same box and go to startup tab, leaving everything unmarked, just reboot your pc and problem should be solved
