yes de-register most of the phones from the base station and then
re gister them in the correct order to get the desired numbers. You have the instruction manual from my earlier post so just de register most of the phones being 2 to 4 and re resister them in the desired order .
This solution is for the KX-TG2356 cordless phone
The problem you are having is not that the handset is de-registering but your handset is losing the link to the main base. You said you went through 6 handsets then, the only remaining thing that could cause your problem is: A bad handset battery. This would give you all types of connection problems and the Main base.
I will begin with replacing the battery. If that does not solve your problem then the problem would be the main base
Sorry for being off line so long. If you have not fixed the problem already, I would try de-registering the handset 3 (from both the base and handset), then re-register it, it should re-register as HS 3, unless 1 and 2 are vacant. If that does not do it, de-register just the handset (not at the base), then re-register it to the base, it will grab the next sequencial intercom number. If it is still failing, then the handset is most likely defective. As a last resort, you can try initializing the handset and the base. Let me know how it goes. CG
I would suspect that you need to de-register both 3 and 4 at the same time before re-registering them. This probably will not work if the base unit still thinks phone number 2 is out there somewhere. It would need to be de-registered as well for the others to move up a notch. I did read the process for de-registering somewhere on the web, don't remember where, just that it involves removing/installing the battery and punching some buttons.
