After cleaning grit from cold water supply inlet screen on back of machine, cold water flow from detergent dispensor remains almost none. Is there another screen somewhere inside to clean?

How to fix leak from soap dispensor

I assume you have water coming out of the dispenser and running down the front of the machine. You probably have a build up of soap powder in the water inlet and it is restricting the flow and backing up.
Soap powder is only partially soluble in cold water and a residue of undissolved powder builds up over time, one of the reasons I use a liquid detergent. Remove the dispenser tray, it should pull out fairly easily with just a little resistance. Try and clear any blockages, hot water is best as it dissolves better. Clean the tray you have removed and re-assemble.

Bosch Nexxt 700 Series Washer, water from cold supply does not dispense into detergent tray

Make sure that the cold supply is on and/or the supply hose is not crimped or clogged. Other than that it can be a control panel issue in the unit itself. But first eliminate the basic things.

Fabric softener dispensor does not empty

For the FAV6800A or FAV9800A:

If you have no water flow to the Softener dispenser or Bleach dispenser see if you can turn the dispenser valves on Service Mode and verify water flow to the reservoirs.
Enter Service Mode (page 14 of the Service manual) by Pressing Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the console beeps.

Now go to page 16 to Service Manual and enter Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. This will lock the lid. Now press the
Wrinkle Control Key Pad on the console. The Control Board will send 120VAC to the Fabric Softener dispenser water valve. Did you hear the solenoid hum? If so we will now need to turn on the Cold Water Inlet Valve and see if water flows to the dispenser.

Now press the Spin Only key this will turn on the Cold Water inlet valve after 5 seconds press the Off key. The washer will unlock. Check to see if water did flow to the fabric dispenser reservoir. If you heard the Fabric dispenser valve hum then most likely 120VAC was applied to the solenoid. If water did not flow then the Fabric dispenser valve is stuck closed if you heard it hum.

The Bleach/Fabric dispenser water valve is an assembly and is not repairable you have to replace.

Final technical troubleshooting as a technical owner of the machine would be to take my DVM and verify 120VAC from the Control Board to the Fabric dispenser solenoid.

See page 36 lower left hand corner is the Bleach/Softener dispenser valve.
Here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

The Part Number for the Dispenser Valve is 25001043 you can order from this site or search the internet for best price try appliancezone.com…

You can remove the Fabric Softner to clean see page 33 of the Service Manual…Rich

My problem is that the fabric softener doesn't dispense on my GE front loader WCVH6260 washer. (I rarely use the bleach compartment, so I don't really know if that is working.) The detergent part dispenses...

I know this may sound silly, but I have seen this problem solved on many occasions by cleaning the filter screen(s) in your cold water supply hose!
This is because the softener dispenser must fill with cold water (on top of your softener liquid) in order to start the siphoning off of the softener. If the cold water supply is restricted, the dispenser will not receive enough water begin the siphon effect.
Now before you tear things apart, try this test...
Begin a wash cycle by filling with HOT water, and observe (listen to) how fast the tub is filling for a few seconds... Now change the wash temperature to COLD, and notice the difference in water flow. If you detect a noticeable decrease in water flow... Clean the cold water hose screens!
How? Unplug the unit! Turn the cold water valve off, and remove the hose. (If you did the test above, you will easily feel which hose is the cold one.) Use a small brush and a squirt bottle to clear the screen inside the inlet to the washer, and also check the end of the hose where it attaches to the plumbing... some guys put a screen at both ends of the hose. Put it back together, turn the water on and CHECK for leaks. All OK? Plug 'er in and wash a load, and pat yourself on the back for saving yourself the price of a service call!
Hope this helps...

Suds remain after full cycle

I would personally look at a cold water supply problem, since cold water is what's used in the rinse cycle. Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlets. (especially on the cold water side). Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids at the inlet valve. Use a multimeter or ohmmeter to test for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. It could be a detergent or even a pump issue, but I would check the cold water supply first. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Cold water enters washer very slowly

First - check the water inlet hose screen for calcium or rust build-up.

2604cae.jpg

If cold water is filling slowly, take these steps:
  1. Unplug the washer.
  2. Turn off the cold water supply faucet.
  3. Remove the fill hose connected to the back of the washer.
  4. Checkthe fill screen on the cold water inlet valve for debris or depositsthat can restrict the water flow. If necessary, you can carefully pullthe screen out and clean it. Flush the inlet thoroughly and replace thescreen. NOTE: If debris makes it past this screen, it can cause thevalve to leak and cause a flood in your laundry room. Monitor thewasher for this type of problem is you pull the screen out and clean it.
  5. Placethe end of the hose in a bucket and briefly turn on the faucet to checkfor proper pressure and flow from the cold water hose. If waterpressure from the cold inlet water hose is bad, check the hose forclogs. If the hose is okay, then I recommend calling a plumber to checkthe water supply to your washer cold water faucet.
  6. If the above checks do not help you resolve the fill problem, you will likely need to replace the inlet fill valve.

Your cold water fill valve (mixer valve) solenoid has failed if after cleaning - the condition remains.

The softener holder just fills with water but will not drain.

Is water left in the dispenser at the end of the cycle?
About two tablespoons of water remaining in the dispenser compartment at the end of the cycle is normal. At the end of the wash cycle, fresh water automatically cleans the dispenser. Check that the cycle is complete before opening the dispenser drawer.
Is the dispenser drawer clogged?
A clogged dispenser can block the flow of water through the dispenser and cause water to leak out. Manually remove the dispenser, and clean any leftover detergent or additives that could clog the flow of water through the dispenser. Also, check that the detergent drawer is always completely closed during the cycle. If the drawer is not closed completely, water can leak out onto the floor.
Are the additives dispensing too early?
Here are a few things that can cause the additives (detergent, fabric softener or liquid chlorine bleach) to dispense early:
  • Check that the dispenser is not overfilled. Do not fill past the MAX fill lines on the dispenser. Overfilling can cause early dispensing of liquid chlorine bleach and/or fabric softener.
  • Check that the detergent separator is in the correct position. For liquid detergent, the separator should be in the front position. For powdered detergent, the separator should be in the rear position. If the separator is in the rear position while you are using liquid detergent, it will dispense immediately, which is not how it is designed to work.
  • Use powdered HE detergent when using the DELAY WASH option. Liquid detergent may dispense prior to the start of wash.
Are the additives dispensing too late?
The additives will not dispense until the proper time if the DELAY WASH option is selected.

Fabric Softener Won't Dispense

The fabric softener dispenser is notorious for clogging. Liquid fabric softener is essentially a liquid form of wax. After a period of time it begins to gunk up the inside of the fabric softener dispenser. If you remove the dispenser drawer and look into the cavity, there should be a series of holes in the upper part of the compartment where water sprays into all the dispenser trays. These holes get gunked up and clogged and water will not dispense properly. As a result, the washer goes through a complete cycle, but the dispenser stays full. If this is the case, you can take some cotton swabs and/or toothpicks and clean these holes real good. It may be a bit meticulous, but it should take care of the problem. Post back and let me know if this helps.

He2 leaking from detergent dispensor

Plug off the wall, etc. Remove the rear cover. There is a thin tube coming from the control panel area to the base where the water exits, this should not be blocked, remove from top and blow to check, refit. Next clean out your outlet filter, it could be clogged, refit. This tube controls the water level. Another thing that could be the problem: Try to take the top of the machine off; there are three tubes coming into the dispenser box, these may hv come loose or something. Connect well.
