My son used my Breville espresso maker ... I am not sure how he managed it but the pod is now jammed up in the area above where the arm usually twists and locks . I noticed there are four little screws holding a plate up under...the pod is up inside this part. Can I unscrew?

I wouldn't. I'm sure that it's possible for you to do so, but I wouldn't recommend it, just because it can void your warranty if you take anything apart. I would suggest contacting Breville to see if they might be able to help you out (of course, don't tell them that your son did it--that wouldn't be covered under warranty. If you say it "just got stuck," they really have no choice other than to believe you ;)).
According to their website ( www.brevilleusa.com ), their phone number is 1-866-BREVILLE (1-866-273-8455)

Good luck! :)

When I select the large size, it only dispenses a small amount. Was working fine yesterday...

This sometimes happens if you are using a pod/capsule meant for brewing espresso (lower liquid volumes). Perhaps the capsules are packed differently (ie. tighter for espresso pods, looser for coffee pods) and the machine detects these differences, but I'm not sure. On my machine (nespresso brand) there are two buttons, one for espresso (small liquid volume) and one for coffee (larger liquid volume). When I want to make a larger volume, I choose a pod appropriate for making a larger volume. These volumes are usually written somewhere on the sleeve/espresso box, or in the hand booklet that describes that lists the variety of pods offered by the company.
I hope this helps.

How do I fix a leak from the coffee holder unit

Does it leak around the pod holder, or after the holder is removed?
It it is around then you need to replace the head gasket.
If it is after then the solenoid or the valve seat is damaged.

Coffee won't pass through pod

the K-cup is punctured at the top and at the bottom.
you can take a corkscrew, and puncture a number of holes in the bottom of the K-Cup... verify there is a hole at the top... just before you start to brew... press down on the black arm over the cup... but not too hard...Lets see what happens... if it all looks good... no problems... then we need to either adjust the arm... or shim the k-Cup up a little bit...
you may also check the rubber Seal around the top pin that punctures the K-cup...
sounds like you lost your rubber seal around the top of the K-cup...

you can re-phrase after looking and testing....

No rubber fitting on steam arm

The rubber fitting does 2 things. It splits the steam and it keeps the end from bumping too hard. You don't need it but make sure you clean the steam tube well.

A card included in the operating manual indicates that this is normal. The Breville "Dual Wall Crema System" will do this. Visit www.breville.com for more information.
