Our Jaccuzzi Magnum Force pump extremely low pressure

Our Jaccuzzi Magnum Force pump seems to have a pressure problem. We recently returned from vacation, gave the pool a good cleaning, and after backwashing, can't seem to get any pressure back into the system. Now the pump is heating up, and well below the "clean" reading on the pressure gauge. Help!

Giving it a good cleaning probably clogged the pump impeller. If you vac'd the pool and the pump basket was packed with debrie it probably passed through and clogged. Split the pump and inspect the eye of the impeller. Low pressure means low flow.

1hp magnum pump starts and runs but very little flow. then pump shuts down. checked for water supply and any blockage . none found in supply or return pump is about 8 or 10 years old

Sounds like a problem with the impeller, take off the lid, take out the pump basket and reach down and feel past the opening in the bottom, should feel a smooth and clean series of plastic blades, it is possible the blades a chewed up or its loaded up with hair.

How do you get the pump out of the housing on a jucuzzi magnum force pump

If yours is the model with the big round ring around motor, it is a large retaining nut. Remove this nut and the motor should come from the pump housing. Don't be too rough, plastic breaks.

Pressure is very low, what is wrong

Very Vague question as far as problems go, I'll try to narrow down.
If the pressure is low on the tank that is a good thing.
If the pressure of the water going back into the pool from the discharge is low/ weak.. it's not.
If the Pump is operating properly, the problem could be the following

1. Extra long filter hoses. Any hose longer then 6ft will decrease the pressure back to the pool.
2. Chlorinater, salt generator or mineral cartridges in line from the filter to the pool may decrease return pressure, as will solar panels.
3. A filter in need of back washing. An older DE or Cartridge filter may need an acid bath. May also be an issue with newer filters that had to battle a bad algae problem. An Acid bath will remove dead algae from the inside of the grids or tubes/ fingers.
4. If you notice bubbles in the water returning into the pool from the eyeball/discharge, or water in the strainer basket is visibly swirling (bubbles visible) odds are you need you replace the o-ring on the lid of the strainer basket in the front of the pump. This basket may also be clogged with debris, which also effect pressure. Could also be a cracked or warped strainer lid. Should be easy to see when you remove to check o-ring.

Jacuzzi Magnum 1000 - overheating & looking for manual

Loosen the motor and impeller from the pump by backing off the large plastic nut and take that whole section to an electric motor repair shop for inspection. If the motor is salvagable, they can quote the repair or replacement.

My pump is running however it's pressure is less than 10 psi and the heater on the pool will not run.

With the Jacuzzi Magnum pool pumps, low pressure is going to likely be cause by one of the issues below. Try these troubleshooting tips.

1.Pump not primed

2.Leakage of air into suction system

3.Impeller clogged

4.Valve in suction or discharge line partly closed or suction or discharge line partly plugged or too small. 5.Plugged basket in skimmer or hair in lint strainer.

6.Dirty filter.
