Where do you get your coffee beans? I had this problem and found a small stone stuck in the grinder that was in the coffee beans.

SOURCE: Coffee grinder

Mine had a piece of the top/bean lid broken off and lodged in the groove preventing the lid from going down far enough to release the safety switch which is on the right (as you look at the front) in the bottom of the groove. Note that there is another safety switch in the body of the grinder above where the ground coffee comes out that must be working as well.

SOURCE: Coffee Grinder on the EAM3500

We just went through the same situation. We opened the top the Magnifica to get to the grinder and removed the four screws to seperate the grinding pieces. Inside we discovered two black fosilized beans/stones! We removed those, cleaned out all the bean dust and it is working like new! Took about an hour.

You need to open the grinder, it`s probably packed with old fine powdered coffee that blocks the outlet. Clean this out and try again. Since it works normal when you use pre-ground coffee, there shouldn`t be any problems with any other parts.

Let me know if you want a description for have to open and clean the grinder.

Good luck!

SOURCE: cuisinart burr coffee grinder

The best solution I have was referred to me by a mate of mine who services commercial coffee machines.

Step 1. Remove the base of the grinder... this is actually the hardest aspect of this task... as there is one tamper-proofing screw... if you can't get the correct star-hex screw driver I recommend drilling the screw out.
Step 2. Once the base is off you will see the main shaft of the grinders motor. The shaft has a star washer set in behind hew nut, the end of the shaft has a slot cut into for a flat bladed screwdriver. Hold the nut with a pair of pliers & you can adjust the shaft positioning (& hence the burr attached to the motor) by about 3mm....

You will need to experiment to find the correct level of fineness as you require.

If you need further information send me an e-mail as I'd be happy to forward more detailed instructions.

Good Luck.

Cheers.......

Miele coffee machine CVA4080 coffee grinder works but not well... coffee is coming out the waste in chunks not a fine powder.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Miele.

This particular machine ends up on Fixya a couple of times every week!

Some Miele machines have a lever to adjust the grind coarseness. Page 27 of the manual below. I would also give it a good clean beforehand to check there is nothing in there that shouldn't be.

Hi, I'm using the machine coffee Jura ENA Micro 90. when I start to make a cup of coffee, the grinder is working until the cup of coffee is done.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the grinder's programming or calibration. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the grind settings: Make sure the grind setting is not set too low, as this can cause the grinder to continue grinding even after the brewing process has started. You may need to adjust the grind setting to a coarser level.
  2. Clean the machine: If the grinder is clogged with old coffee grounds, it may continue to grind to compensate for the lack of coffee being produced. Clean the machine thoroughly, including the grinder, and try again.
  3. Reset the machine: Turn off the machine and unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes reset the machine and resolve any software or programming issues.
  4. Contact Jura customer service: If none of the above steps work, it may be necessary to contact Jura customer service for further assistance or to schedule a repair.
I hope this helps!

I have Miele coffee system CVA 4062 the grinder is not working properly? I have cleaned everything, Descaled all that good stuff.

Its likely to be the brushes in the Grinder motor. These are replaceable but Miele does not sell them as a spare part. You may be able top fabricate your own if your technically minded and experienced and can disassemble the machine. Otherwise grinder needs to be replaced. Regards

Hi. I have a miele cva4060. The grinder is working but it does not seem to be getting any beans through it and I am only getting water dispensed instead of a coffee shot! It was working fine a few days...

Hi

If you hear its 'grinding' then that's good - problem is where is the ground coffee going or supposed to go??
Check there is no build up of damp/dried coffee grinds in the pathway between grinder and brew unit - this can happen if the machine is not properly cleaned say every 3 mths or more often depending on usage - coffee 'dust' can build up.

Also suggest remove all beans from grinder, vacumn last ones out. clean all around grinder opening. Add a dozen or so beans to the grinder, turn on and try again. If the beans disappear, its grinding properly. If they don't end up in the brew unit, then the hold up is as I said in that pathway - grinder to brew unit. If you cant see an obvious blockage/build up, suggest you have a tech look at it.
Cheers

Hi - I have a miele cva5060 coffee machine. The grinder has stopped working, any ideas or solutions?

Sounds like grinder, over heated or got jammed by foriegn item (stone, pebble, etc...). If it over heated, then wait a few minutes, and then try again. Grinder also has a heat fuse that may have burnt out. If grinder doesn't work, after waiting 15 minutes, then a technician may have to replace grinder.

Talea Giro - Will not grind coffee

Does the spindle spins when you do the grinding? If not the parts in the grinder is broken. If the spindle still spins and you get sort of wood chip grounds, the adjusting wheel has come off the grinder when you adjust the grinder too coarse. You can undo the grinder if you know how to open the machine. Go to my Odea solutions and look up step by step instruction on how to. Itis very similar. All the best.

Hello. grinder won't grind

HI
Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. This will be above where the brew unit was. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the large knob to the largest number. You can turn the knob to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to turn to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can turn the knob back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.

Whole beans fall through the Grinder

You have to remove the coffee bean hopper, there are two screws on it. Below it is the grinder and there must be a rubber seal between them. Perhaps it is crooked or broken, and then the coffee beans pass and fall down.
