Door Handle The bottom part of the door handle broke after few uses. I was sent a replacement handle. However I can't take the plastic off the top screw and can't get to the screw from the inside of the microwave. It seems like there is a glue holding the plastic on. Therefore, I can't put the new handle on. What can I do to remove the small piece of plastic attached to the screw.

If at all possible try getting an exploded image break down to see what needs to happen, basically you have two things in your way one is the "choke"...the large black rectangle on the inside of the door this has to be pryed off carefully all the way around and lifted off, pocket knife works great to get it started. next you will have the front door assembly snapped onto the mesh screen and frame of the door itself. Once you have seperated the front door you will see the screws for the handle, DONT OVERTIGHTEN these screws when you reinstall.

I have a Kenmore microwave, model 721.62649200. The Handle to the door just broke off. I can find places online to buy a new handle, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to take the door...

I have a similar unit and I removed the outside of the door by loosening two flat head screws on the narrow where the handle is located. There are several screws yet holding the outside plastic housing too. Once these are removed the plastic door will come off. Then the handle will be accessible.
The same issue started with my oven too and I replaced the original handle with larger screws and using a high quality plastic glue.
This held for a while. The plastic door cover seemed to have changed dimensions during its life and warped. I ordered a new door and it lasted a short while. I then asked for a new door under warranty.
Bottom line they wouldn't sent a new cover but they returned my money. Apparently the doors all had crappy plastic issues. Currently we are using the microwave with out the door front. It still works like new after 10 years though.

I have a whirlpool mh1150xms-3 and the handle is broke! how do i replace it without breaking the glass? i took out the 3 screws on the left side and it wont seperate from the outside case!

Unplug the microwave oven from its power outlet or turn off its circuit breaker. Remove the right fuse from the home fuse-box if your microwave is a built-in model.

Open the microwave door and take the top pin off its pivot bracket. Lift up the door and remove it from the bottom bracket. Lay the microwave door with its front side down on a folded towel. Remove the two choke screws from the door frame using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Remove the choke cover with the knife blade, starting from the microwave door's top right corner. Pry out the bottom and top right sides, leaving the side which houses the door handle in place.

Remove the choke tabs from their slots on the microwave door frame using the knife blade. Continue to work clockwise around your microwave door; remove the choker cover when you get to your handle's side to separate it from your choke.

Remove the two handles with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the handle from the microwave.

Screw the new handle in the position of the original handle. Lay the choke on the microwave door; set the choke cover right on top of it. Insert the choke tabs into their slots on the microwave door frame using the knife blade.

Secure the two choke screws using a Phillips head screwdriver; set the microwave door back on the bottom bracket. Slide the top pin into the microwave's pivot bracket.

Press the top pin down until it pops securely into place.

Need help replacing handle on whirlpool microwave model MH1150XM

Remove two screws on top at front in order to remove plastic front vent grill. Then the door lifts off pin hinges. Lay door flat on surface. Plastic trim snaps off with gentle prying (start at bottom middle and bottom hinge side). Then remove six screws holding notched metal section with door latch. This piece will also snap out (several visible clips holding it around edges). Then remove door handle screws, Replace handle and reverse process to put back together.

The bottom of the door handle broke off. GE spacemaker xl

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Handle broke and can't screw in the bottom screw of the new handle

bottom plate of the handle has a keyhole shape in the door-face of it
to go over a mushroom headed screw already secured in the door
tap the old broken handle down the door and it will pop off the screwhead
then
set the new handle sideways on the door, top end out into empty space, and pull it into place on the screw head,
rotate the handle top over the door and screw it into place, dont flex the handle much to twist it in place, they are brittle, and break

Need to Replace Door Handle for KitchenAid Over Range Microwave Hood Combo KHMS147KSS

Check out this door frame diagram, specifically number 1805. It clips on to the door frame. Remove it using a dull table knife or something similar (be careful not to scratch or break anything). You will then have access to the bottom screw.
