Need to get diagram to wire gould century 1.5 h.p. motor, Part #8-150237-20 for 115V. It is a 1081 pool pump duty with N56J frame. I have 3 of these motors and not one has the diagram under the wiring cover. This is not an A O Smith motor.
The motors are presently wired for 230V. I want to wire them for 115V. Nothing on nameplates and all are in pristeen condition. The terminal boards have 1thru 6. #1 and #4 have the hot leads connected to them. Of course there is neutral lead to frame. #5 has white lead and #6 has brown lead connected. #3 is blank. #2 is facing inside of motor and has internal leads connected to it.The motors are presently wired for 230V. Terminals 1 and 4 also have an extra tab so it would be possible to hook up one of the wires yo them (BRN or White I assume. Thank You very much!Terminals 1 and 4 also have an extra tab so it would be possible to hook up one of the wires yo them (BRN or White I assume. Thank You very much!
I will contact AOSmith in the AM and try and get a copy then. I am not sure and do not want to mislead you into misconnecting it.I will contact AOSmith in the AM and try and get a copy then. I am not sure and do not want to mislead you into misconnecting it.
Century always printed theirs on the bottom of the motor nameplate. Not one of the three has the diagram there? A.O.Smith owns Century now and all their website ill tell us is the 'current' replacement motor for the 8-150237-20. If you still can not wire it, can you describe the terminal board and existing wires? You likely have two wires already in the motor (Brown and White) connected to the board. Also, what voltage are you connecting it to?Century always printed theirs on the bottom of the motor nameplate. Not one of the three has the diagram there? Email me at [email protected] and I'll reply with the .PDF from AOSmith. You need to move a couple of wires but as they say, a picture is worth me typing a thousand words.

I'm making over €7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life.

Did you find a solution for this? I have the exact same pump/motor with the exact same problem. Need to reconfigure it from 110v to 220v and have no wiring diagram.
You are correct in assuming Hayward won't be of much help. A.O. Smith used to be original equipment on several brands of pool pump motors. Over the years Century/Magnatek took the business away from A.O. Smith, so A.O.Smith bought Century! Most pool pumps have a 1081 designation on them. It has been a while but I think that means it is rated for continuous duty (24/7). I'd call a local motor shop, they rebuild these things all day long.
This manual has the wiring diagrams both hi and lo voltage for part # 8- 142776 -20 gould century 1081m 1 hp , pool pump motor 230/115 volts.... plus several similar motors
THIS IS LIKELY CAUSED BY SOMETHING IN IMPELLER TURN OFF POWER SEE IF YOU CAN SEE ANTHING IN IT YOU HAVE TO TURN HANDEL VALVES OFF PUSH DOWN IF YOU HAVE TO OPEN PIPE IN FRONT OF PUMP I
