Ice freezes into one solid block and won't dump out of the tray

My ice maker fills the ice cube tray with water, when the water turns to ice cubes the ice tray turns over but the ice does not fall out, then the water fills up the tray again as if the tray was empty only to over flow the tray and gets water over everything.

Is it the bottom sliding door freezer? I found if not balanced properly, the freezer door doesn't always close entirely. Therefore the ice begins to melt once made. As the door is slide open and closed, sometimes all the way other times only partially. Therefore it thaws and refreezes over an over making the block.

Help! Our ice cubes are frozen but not dumping and our tray is filling up with water fitting a solid sheet of ice. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field refrigeration technician.

It sounds like your ice maker has a bad motor module/circuit board.
It is like a control board. This module reads a temperature sensor that indicates the water is frozen and ready for harvesting the ice cubes. Then it turns on a electric heater under the ice cube mold, then turns on the motor to harvest the ice cubes. After the ice cubes are harvested, it opens the water supply solenoid valve to fill the mold with water. The ice maker needs to be replaced.

My ice freezes as a block when dispensed into ice tray

There are water level adjustment screws behind the plastic cover of the ice maker to adjust the water level when it refills after dumping a tray of ice. When there is to high of a water level it spills over onto the cubes freezing them into a big block. Try to adjust the level of water. There is a arrow which tells you which way to turn the screw to get a smaller fill fixing the problem.

Freezer won't make ice cubes, but does provide cold water.

The water and ice maker are two seperate water control valves built onto the same. Your water control valve for the ice maker may be defective and require that you change the set. Fill ice maker with tap water and allow the water to freeze. If the ice maker dumps the ice into ice bin and then does not refill then this points to the water control valve. If the ice maker does nothing after water freezes then the problem is the ice maker. Send me a model number and I will look up the part numbers for you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

My ice maker is letting too much water go into the ice tray so it freezes in a solid piece. Cubes do fall down but there is so much water it freezes into a solid block

The icemaker produces small cubes if the water fed into it is not enough and lumped together if too much water is supplied. In order to obtain the desired size of ice cubes, the amount of water supplied to the ice maker needs to be adjusted. Adjust the valve supplying water to the icemaker or the unit in general in such a way that right amount of water fills the ice tray.

Ice maker doesn't work

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , but doesn't fill with water , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece that the wall water line connects to on the fridge ) . Also check to be sure that the fill tube from the back of the freezer to the ice maker , isn't blocked with ice , as this is caused by a seeping bad water valve . If the ice maker doesn't dump the cubes , after freezing , then replace the ice maker . Also check to make sure the coils under the front of the refrig , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc.
