E-mailing docs Hi, We have a Canon Image runner 5000 series. I am trying to send e-mails of scanned docs. I get a print out "TX Report" which indicates that the error is in the e-mail address. The address is used regulary and works for e-mail. The copier is networked. E-mail addresses are in the "address book", and I have tried manually as well.

Is there only one email address that doesnt work, or are they all not working?, also have you had a change on your network lately?, your copier will be tied into your email server and any changes will directly affect your copier, if so you may need to call in your IT to input the new server name into the copier.

You really need to call the company service or network assistance and see what they can tell you.

Hi, i got a ir3580 cannon copier and it doesnt give me an option to scan to email, it shows the message tx image set not to display..can anyone help please !

If you don't have the send button then it wont work

setting up the device for scan to e-mail
1.select * head > SYSTEM SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > E-MAIL SETTINGS. You may need to scroll down the menu to find the e-mail settings

2. Fill in the required fields, SMTP or POP settings
Someone with a little IT background would help

The e-mail address is for the recipient so they know where the scan-e-mail come from e.g [email protected]
The server address settings are important.

3.Go back to send screen to add e-mail address and test

Restart device may help sometime after changing device settings:) Good Luck

When i try to print its saying out of register colour so how do i solve this problem? and what is calibration?

hi! Ok, for first, let as see which color are misaligned. You should bring up the printer status screen from the LBP-5000 and just type this code: *28* then go to the second menu and choose the "service menu". Then try to find out a menu where you can print out some infos. I think it is the second menu in the "service menu"
You should get printed out on 3pcs of papers all 4 colors separated. Some colors are misaligned. If you have that printing then scan it and send it to me to this mail: [email protected] so I can see what is happening.
If you have an eeprom reader and a little electronic scill it would be nice for the next steps...
I'm waiting for your mail...

A user expressed the need to send confidential documents to storage on the printer (Cannon Image Runner 5000) and to protect them so others cannot print them.

hi refer to user manual guide; you can protect your session by a password and no one can see your confidential documents

Scan 5 separate documents into 1 e-mail instead of 5 e-mail

I'm assuming you have pressed SEND button at top.

There is a DIVIDE INTO PAGES button towards the bottom right, if it's a blue colour press it to make it grey, this will send the docs as one file.

What is a tx function

tx is shorthand for transmit, rx is for receive - used since the days of the telegraph.

I am not an expert about such matters but I think a scanned image first needs to be stored in an on-computer file and then attached to an email by using the browse function from the email compose box.

Repeated Fax TX report printing

Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.

My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.

Here's what I did...

Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"

With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

Good luck!
