If you were able to get it to work with one signal source but not another, the poblem may be with the foxtel cable rather than the tv. Was there a difference between the connection from the aerial antennae and the cable? Have you checked to make sure another tv works on the cable from that location?
Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a
circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of
taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or
fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting
procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair
facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate
and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed.
Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost
effective to repair.
For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.
I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.
