Misubishi Medallion 1080

I have a mitsubishi Medallion 1080 HD 55" rear projection TV that has a bow to the picture on the top and bottom of the screen. After a few hours of being on, the screen returns to normal. Is this something that is repairable at a reasonable cost?

If this is a ws-65411: it sounds like one of the two STK-392-110 convergence IC's is bad; you need to have both replaced at the same time; I do this type of repair(done hundreds of them) and most can be done right in your home.

The two ic's can be purchased on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping.

This is the slow time of year for TV repair shops--find someone in your area who knows how to do this kind of repair---here shops charge 3-4 hundred but I charge 200-250 total depending on brand of set.

Shop around and if they insist on "taking set to shop" keep looking---any good tech can do this repair in your home---MAKE SURE HE CHANGES BOTH of the IC's!

I do this here for free so if this has been helpful give me a vote here.

My medallion hd 1080 tv has a direct tv menu screen burnt in it and i wonder what i can do to fix it

There is only one way to fix it and that is replacing all three CRT's. Due to the cost of the CRT's at around $300.00 a piece, ($900.00 for all three), I recommend not investing the money into it unless
the set is very special to you.
I hope this helps,

Mitsubishi TV Picture Bowing

You will find a very good guide here and here to fix your TV.
This might not be a DIY if you do not feel comfortable. The repair shops charge about $350.00 to $400.00 for this type of repair.
