capacitor? will hum if contactor pulled in but no ac power. will hum if contactor pulled in and bad capacitor. depends on how lowd the hum is. loud hum prolly equals bad capacitor

power steering pump make humming noise and alternator with bad shaft bearing make noise.

If your motor is turned on and just hums then it is bad and will need to be replaced.

do they hum when you unplug the audio jack from the PC?
If they stop humming when disconnected the problem will be down to a bad earth connection on the motherboard, or a failing power supply (rectifier circuit)
Humming is normally a result of voltage potential and the 50hz frequency in the mains.

If cutter disk turns freely and motor hums, then motor winding has gone bad.
The humming sound means motor is overheating and will stop humming.

You need to add a "ground lift" to the power cord to your system. What you're hearing is a 60 cycle hum (electricity) from house power.

belt may have broke. if you are hearing a humming sound . thats the motor .whitch is good, sounds like the belt broke or slipped off.

More then likely it's the transformer. It may be getting weak. I've seen them hum/vibrate almost new and last for years. It's more an annoyance than anything.
