  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Modem light flashing can be a sign of normal use. If you look under each modem light it will give a word that tells your what that light does. You can look that up in your manual. There are many things that cancause you to loose internet but if you could provide a littl more information I may help to get you the correct answer What is the model number of the modem and do you also have a router. If you have a router also then the make and model of that woud also be useful

You may need to reset your device and you will see a reset button at back of your router so all you need is to keep holding it for 10 seconds then unplug the power jack for like 1 min and then your device shall be reset. But please make sure to backup your all settings first. Good Luck

I will be working on the internet and suddenly the connection is dropped. It will restart when I unplug and replug in. Will run fine for a few hours and then stop again and have to unplug/replug. All...

I would call the professional and have him replace/repair it for starters. There is obviously something wrong with the hardware or the connection of your Internet Provider, ether way the install should test the connection and stand behind his installation. If you paid this guy demand, politely but firmly of course, to repair it. 2DAYS OLD, I would be livid. By the way I do the exact same thing as your professional.

My belkin router n3000 stopped working out of the blue , internet connection shows up but no internet

Try recycling the router by unplugging it then after 20 seconds plug it back in. See if you can stay connected. If not, unplug the modem and the router, then plug the modem in and let it cycle up for about a minute or two, then plug the router in and let it cycle up.

If you turn your computer and router off at night, then when you turn them back on, if the router boots up before the modem, it will have connection problems. A power outage in the house causes the same thing if the router cycles up before the modem.

Hello. I have a Dlink dir 600 router and it worked without problems for about a year (usually there were 2-3 laptops wirellesly connected to it). Then suddenly I couldn?t connect to the internet anymore....

Make sure all the wires are connected properly. 1.-Unplug your modem and router from the power supply. Wait 1 minute. 2.-Plug your modem back to the power and wait for all the lights to stop flashing. 3.-Plug your router back to the power and wait for the lights to stop flashing
Follow these steps and your internet should be working again!

Internet explorer stop working

You could be experiencing downtime, phone your Internet Service Provider and ask them to check the connectivity of your line. Also make sure the ethernet cables are connected and the Router is turned on, the internet/DSL light should be lit. In which case you would be online in no time.
Please take the time to rate this solution.

Every time I try to access internet explorer, it closes.

Stop using Internet Explorer. It is not a safe or reliable browser to begin with. See this article.

Here are the steps:
  1. 1. Download and install Firefox. It is an amazing browser and is surprisingly light weight and safe. Download here.
  2. When Firefox asks you if you want it to be your default browser select "YES".
  3. Delete the shortcuts on your desktop to Internet Explorer and start using FireFox!
You are done!

On and off line every 20 flashes.

Have you attempted to connect the internet after the router stops flashing? Do the lights start flashing again? If you do, then it would be considered normal.

If they don't and you do not have an internet connection, try the next step.

Next, plug your computer straight into the modem - Do you have an internet connection now? If you do, your router may require configuration.
