Bostitch CAP2000P-OF 6 gallon compressor

This is an easy fix.. you need an new safety valve or a new switch.

If the safety valve releases pressure before the max pressure replace it.
the switch has a cut in pressure of 120 psi (this means compressor will start when pressure falls to 120 psi.
The cut off pressure is 150 psi. This means the unit will shut off at 150 psi.
You need to watch supply pressure to see if it exceeds 150 psi. If it does replace switch.

Quincy air compressor keeps poping safety valve on head model430

I don't find that model in my database but if the safety valve is popping it is one of only a few issues:
1) The safety valve is weak or defective - run the compressor and watch the pressure gauge and see when it releases. Most compressors cycle on at around 90psi and off at around 120psi - the relief valve is usually set at 130-140psi. If it releases before 130psi I would replace the safety valve.
If it blows off above 130psi...
2) The pressure switch is defective if the unit doesn't shut down at it's labeled pressure (most are 120-125psi)
If it runs beyond the labeled pressure and blows off then replace the pressure switch.
3) If the unit has a pilot valve instead of a pressure switch and the unit builds up past the labeled pressure then you can follow these instructions to adjust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CZ9Hznh6EI

My air compressors filled up with air and shut off when the air got below a certain psi and did not kick back in to fill the tank can you help me.

Pressure problems can be several pressureline leaks

If an air pressure switch (pressostat) does not return replace the pressure switch a gray colored or white or black colored box with the powercables comin to and the power knob on it red black gay or other color. that is the problem itself in this case . the mechanic jumped not up it hangs , best is to replace the complete part.

If the compressor filling the tank and when its reached the pressure and it blow from out the safety valve then the pressostat its too high adjusted. there is a max pressure on the valve to read is it blow off below the max replace the safety valve.

Is your pressure is build up but it blow out the Pressure relief nipple its a part of the pressostat in most case , the your Non-return valve on the tank is dirty or by dirtable metal parts from the pressure line membrane parts .

Porter cable 6 gal pressure switch. safety valve blows when tank filling

Depending on the pressure in the tank when the safety valve releases, the problem is likely your pressure switch. If the pressure is at or above 160 psi when it blows, then the problem is the switch. If the pressure is lower, then it is likely a faulty safety valve. There are about 8 versions of this machine. check on dewalt service net for the correct part. you may need to check ebay if the part is nla thru dewalt.

Porter Cable Pancake compressor builds pressure, but will not shut off when max pressure is achieved. Pressure switch is NOT the culprit.

Most P/C compressors shut off at 150psi. If the pressure switch is bad, the pressure will rise until the safety pops. If the safety is not opening, then most likely the cylinder / piston ring is worn to the point that pressure will not increase past safety range (cylinder could be scratched near top ). If cylinder and piston are ok, then air is leaking somewhere (check all joints with soapy water). Good luck

No new switch in compressor

The sensor in the back of the compressor is a high pressure shut down.It protects the system from blowing a hose if a malfunction should occur. There is a internal snap-ring that holds the sensor in.Remove the snap ring and carefully twist and pull up at the same time.If you do happen to damage sensor a new one can be had at your gm dealer or most good parts stores.

Compessor trips circuit

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR COMPRESSOR IS NOT UNLOADING WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN. YOU SHOULD HEAR AN AIR RELIEF SOUND TYPICALLY ON THE SIDE OF THE PRESSURE SWITCH WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN. ITS A SMALL VALVE WITH A TIRE VALVE THAT THE LEVER HITS AND RELIEVES THE PRESSURE FROM THE DISCHARGE LINE AND THE TOP OF THE PISTON.

YOUR CHECK VALVE COULD BE BAD LETTING PRESSURE BACK UP BUT IT WOULD BE BLOWING AIR OUT ALL THE TIME WHEN SHUT DOWN.

IF YOU THINK THE VALVE OR SWITCH IS WORKING AND WANT TO CHECK IT, LET THE COMPRESSOR BUILD UP AND SHUT DOWN, LISTEN FOR THE AIR RELIEF,IF IT DOESNT THEN CRACK THE DISCHARGE LINE AND SEE IF THERES ANY PRESSURE, MANUALLY RELIEVE THE PRESSURE THEN USE SOME AIR AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. REPAIR VALVE ON THE SIDE OR CHANGE PRESSURE SWITCH $30-40.00. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE REPLY. JODY

Air compressor does not regulate pressure to set point.

Emglo airmate compressors are set from the factory to shut off at around 125psi. There is an adjustment (remove cover to pressure switch) that will controll the cut-off pressure but it is not recommended changing the factory setting. There is also a safety valve installed that will open at about 160psi. It is a small brass device with a pull ring. When things go wrong with the pressure switch (rectangular box with power cord coming out of one side) the safety will pop open. There is a pressure regulator with round knob on panel that will lower the pressure to the tool, however this regulator does not control the pressure switch. Let you compressor run untill it shuts off and verify pressure to be about 125, if it is then all as well. Good Luck
