If the manual says this motherboard support up to 1 GB RAM, you cannot put 2 GB. You can put 2x 512 GB RAM or 1GB RAM
Also try to upgrade your bios, maybe a better bios version supports more than 1 GB RAM.

No if it only supports 1Gb then you would need to use two 512mb sticks.

Trying to use 2 x 2gb sticks would not work in your case.

The manual may have a chart as to how much you can place in each slot.

it may say slot 1 512bm
slot 2 512 mb

or slot 1 256 mb

Where is the memory slots for the Panasonic CF-T8. I know about the one on the back where it the other slot?

According to Panasonic's Toughbook CFT8
owners manual there is only one slot where
you can add extra RAM. The other memory
is "non-removable" and probably soldered
directly to the motherboard.

I double checked on the Kingston RAM Website:
Bank Schema: 1GB Standard:
[1GB] (Non-Removable)
or

3GB Standard:
[1GB] (Non-Removable)
or

2GB Standard:
[2GB] (Non-Removable)
or

3GB Standard:
[2GB] (Non-Removable)
Sorry to disappoint you but that is how they
made the CFT8 Toughbook.

If it is any consolation, the CFC1 and CFC2 both have
two (2) slots on the underside of the unit. Not the CFT8.

Good Luck,

A7v8x-mx 2GB (2x 1GB) don't recognize

Sounds like you have run into a compatibility problem between your RAM and motherboard. These kinds of problems have been very common and that is why most motherboards have a supported memory list. Usually if the RAM does not work properly you can try reversing the slots that they are plugged into and make sure that your motherboard is set for the proper voltage and speed for the RAM. If it still does not work then you would most likely need either different RAM or a different motherboard.

Here's my issue. Ok i have 2 ram slots. When I have 2 1GB ram cards in the slots the computer registers 2GB ram. When I put in 2GB card and 1GB card, it only registers 2GB RAM. No idea why. I bought...

the issue may be the ram is not the same like a PC100 will not work with a PC300 ram card but if you have the same like a 2GB DDR2 and a 1GB DDR2 it will work unless your computer can only see 2GB of ram then i cannot help you

I have a Dell Dimension 2400. I want to upgrade from 512mb of memory to 1GB. The manual says I have two memory connectors. Do I get the 1GB, or two 512mb to upgrade? Thank you for your response.

Hello

Yes, you can upgrade your system upto 2GB RAM, buy another 512MB RAM DDR 333Mhz and install it to empty slot of RAM, it will upgrade the RAM to 1 GB.

Hope it will help, if so do rate the solution

I put two 2GB RAM in my memory slot and only one is registering, so instead of 4GB RAM, I have 2GB. Why is this and what can I do to get the full 4GB?

ok i checked on your model and it says 2gb RAM max and so it is probably seeing both chips but only seeing 1gb each since that is what the slot is made for..
But to be totally sure you might wqant to check the bios and see what it says since some bios will sometimes give more details as to how many chips are installed.
or take out one chip and turn the computer back on and see if it shows 1gb or 2gb if it shows 1gb with one 2gb chip then you will know that the slot wont read more than 1gb.

Upgrading ram

Hi reisrui, yes it is odd. (It's not the first time I have seen this.)
According to you're manual on page 6, under Specifications. The manual say's you can run up to a Max speed of PC3200 400MHz, 1GB in slot one. In slot 2 you can run a Max of 1GB of PC2700 333MHz in slot 2. Every motherboard I have come across that can run two different speeds of memory. The system will reduce the Max speed to the lower MHz memory speed. If you currently are using 512MB PC3200 400MHz in slot 1 & add 1GB of PC3200 400MHz into slot 2 for a total of 1.5GB of memory. The motherboard will ruduce the total memory over all speed to PC2700 333MHz. Motherboards alway run at the lower memory speed if two different speeds are presant.
I can’t be 100% sure of the 1GB of PC3200 400MHz into slot 2, will run at all! Or if it will be reduce down to 333MHz. I am sure you can run 2GB of PC2700 333MHz, 1GB of memory per slot in you're board for a total of 2GB.

If I can help you further, feel free to post.

Intel D845GBV Motherboard Problem

PC1600 runs at 200MHZ and PC2100 runs at 266MHZ..

Since your motherboard only supports a max of 266MHZ, I would recommend that. (not to mention that PC1600 is pretty much obsolete)..

2nd, you motherboard supports a MAX of 2GB Total ram.. So, you could install 1GB + 256MB.. But why not go for 2xGB?

The price for a 1GB stick of PC2100 is around $75-125 CAN. Not soo cheap anymore...
