Can't connect fujitsu 5120c scanner to windows 7 machine

Hi,

To connect your Fujitsu fi-5120c scanner to Windows 7 PC, you need to install the TWAIN driver for Windows 7. Please download the driver update from the link provided below:

Hope the above information is helpful.

When i try to scan i get this message: unable to open TWAIN source Please check connection then re-start Toolbox the connections are tight

Driver mismatch - the driver of the scanner has forgotten the location of the TWAIN driver because another software has been using it lately. Follow this

Keeps saying "scanner failure" What do I do?

Scanners are a real legacy issue within windows - they have been there forever and yet the software controlling them hasn't been improved on - TWAIN it is the name of the Toolkit which communicates with your scanner and the proprietary software sits on top of that. TWAIN stands for "Toolkit Without An Interesting Name" - I think says it all. It hasn't been improved on much through the various releases of Windows. But to help you more we would need a lot more information.

- Platform Windows 7 .... Mac ...
- Scanner name and manufacturer
- Type of connection to the scanner ( USB ¦ WIRELESS )
- Whether you have had the scanner working in the past on this machine.
- Does the scanner work on another machine - Do you have another machine on which to try the scanner.
- Do you have the original disks for the scanner. And the original Windows Disk - so that you can load up the TWAIN software.
- How did you install the software for the scanner
- Have you come across this TWAIN driver ( perhaps you haven't installed that - because the Manufacturer's software doesn't include the TWAIN driver ( you have to load that from your Windows disk )

If you haven't loaded the TWAIN software - then perhaps - you should de-install the Manufacturers software and then install the TWAIN driver from the disk ( although - it may already be resident in the bowls of the Windows environment on the machine ) and then finally re-install the Manufacturer's software ...

So more questions than answers - but I hope that helps ....

I do not know how to use the scanner on my printer SCX-4200

Twain
Hi, normally, if you have installed the complete driver set, the easiest way is to run a program with scanning capability i.e. photoshop, or word. the software normally given with a scanner is a 'twain' which becomes linked to the picture receiving program. If you have MS word (I'll use this as an example ), ensure the scanner software is installed, the scanner switched on and connected to the computer correctly click Insert select picture then scanner - (or it may say twain). At this point the scanner mini program - the 'twain' should start and then follow the scanner instructions and a scan of whatever you have selected should be inserted into the word document. Bit of trivia - TWAIN stands for Tool With An Interesting Name - yup it really is!.

Cannot communicate with twain devise

I suggest using ISIS drivers instead of TWAIN. I have always had trouble with the twain drivers failing especially in paperport ive found the ISIS drivers to be much more stable.
If you do require TWAIN though best way to fix is un-install the software that the TWAIN driver came with and re-install it. Unfortunately thats the easiest solution.
If you want to try the isis drivers they should be on the cd that you used for the twain drivers just select isis instead.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a Canon scanner 5000f. All of a sudden the computer won't recognize it and says it is "unable to select Twain Source." What do I do?

First you need to follow the instructions for installing the scanner. It is important whether you connect the scanner before the software is installed and whether you work from the new hardware found box or just install the driver as software. It sometimes varies between operating systems as well.

Sometimes the twain files can become corrupted. Since other devices like digital cameras use the twain files they aren’t erased with a driver uninstall or overwritten with an install. If the twain files are gone the driver install will also install them.

Uninstall ScanGear (I think that is the Canon driver software) and remove the scanner if it is still showing in device manager and control panel under scanners. Unplug the USB.
Do a search for twain and delete all you find in the Windows folder. There is probably a folder and several files – delete them all. Do not remove any twain files not in the Windows folder.
Dig out the instructions and reinstall the scanner exactly according to them.

ADF not working for TWAIN APIs

I need a little more description. Does the ADF handles the first page, or no page at all? Keep in mind that Samsung designs its own scanning application (SmartThru). Also check that the connection (parallel or USB) is correctly configured on your app.
