What is your stitch length set to? Is it possibly set to a low number? should be 2 or 3 for a normal stitch.

I have a brand new Necchi model 4825. It only runs backwards. Most adjustments have little results. The reverse lever changes nothing. What is wrong with this machine ?

I'm assuming you've already reset the stitch and width settings back to the settings before the malfunction began-that would be step one. If your machine is computerised and step 1 doesn't work, try switching the machine off and remove the plug from the power supply. This may reset the machine. If that doesn't work you may have a damaged gear and will need a mechanic.

Bought a necchi lydia 3. Does not run smoothly, seems to have hesitation. Cannot move stitch selector readily. Have no manual, so don't know where to oil.

These machines were prone to cracks in the bobbin case (which are exorbitantly expensive to replace) and sticky pattern camstack sliders. I would take it to a repair person familiar with the Lydia. I wouldn't spend much to repair it, as you could improve vastly with even an inexpensive machine from Sears. The new Necchi machines are Taiwan imports and are not related in any way to the old Italian Necchi machines.
