When you turn on the camera the green light comes on, display screen lights up, then it beeps three times and shuts off even after new batteries have been installed.

The 3 beeping sound means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

My Olympus Camedia C-750 will not turn on. When I start it, the screen looks normal but then goes blank. it stays lighted and then beeps several times then makes a noise like a picture has been taken,...

If those batteries are definitely good then the electronics of unit have gone haywire. Contact Olympus to see if there is some sort of hidden code to reset electronics to factory defaults.

Won't stay on

I just posted a few minutes ago with the same problem. I fixed it myself with no one telling me what I needed to do. What I did was as soon as it starts turning on smack it on your hand a couple times. Make sure you use a bit of pressure. It showed a camera view for 3 seconds then shut off so I did it a couple more times and now It's working again just fine. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Yes it can be a crappy camera. But hit it against your hand a few times and it'll work. Let me know if it does for you.

My batteries died in my pink i733 and when it shut down the "zoom lense" did not recede. i put fresh batteries in it but all that happens is that the green light flashes. it wont come on or...

This can sometimes be fixed if you remove the batteries over night and allow the camera to sit and discharge it should correct this problem. hope this helps.

It dont turn on

I had the same problem. Try to turn it on, 3 beeps and then it would shut down. Screen would come on for that time. Also, the lens was stuck open. It wouldn't close.

I twisted the lens (gently) and it appeared stuck. A gentle screw motioned seemed to free it. I hit the power button and it come on, but this time no 3 beeps and shut down. I then turned it off and this time the lens retracted and closed.

So, it appears that if the lens gets stuck open, it has a shut down feature that doesn't allow the camera to go further into its operation modes. I believe this stuck open problem occured on our camera when the batteries went low.

Again, a second of gentle twisting seemed to unstick it and with fresh batteries in, it was able to operate and shut down properly.

As far as batteries, I use the rechargeable Ni-Cad 2500 mA. They last a while.

Blessings to you!
