Display panel control

I had the same problem with my Maytag range. I pulled out the stove and unplugged it. I took off the back panel that protects the digital panel that controls the oven. There was dust all over the electronics. I got a can of compressed air that is used for computers and blew all of the dust out. Plugged the stove back in and it has been working fine since then. Dust can create static electricity. The replacement panel is $300, plus labor.

I have a code 5ab on the panel my model nuber is MGR5775QDS its a 30 inch free standing gas stove.

Your range is probably in the Sabbath mode. The error code shown on the display is"Sab", not "5ab".

To disable the Sabbath mode push and hold the Clock pad for 3 seconds

Maytag gas oven has an F1 code. Model # CGR3740ADW.

The F1 code on a Maytag electric stove means the electronic range control, clock or touch pad is defective. You or a technician can do a test to determine which item is broken, but you must replace the electronic clock range in models where the touch pad and range control are one part.

My clock is running slow no matter how many times its reset. And it sort of shimmers like a florescent bulb thats getting bad. Maytag T2 MES5770AAW

I had the same problem. I turned the breaker off for the stove for 24 hours. (unplugging will do the same thing, I just couldn't get to the back of the stove.)

I turned the breaker back on and it works fine.
