Steam wand doesn't work

My Starbucks Sirena espresso machine's steam wand stopped shooting out water when turned on. I have tried descaling numerous times but it doesn't help. Any suggestions on how to unclog the steam wand or help this problem??

The Sirena uses a combination valve with an electric switch attached internally that tells the pump to turn on when the steam valve is opened. I found on my own machine that as it got older, the switch and valve fell out of adjustment. The plastic knob could rotate the switch on, but not open the steam valve to allow the steam to flow. If you're handy, UNPLUG the machine and disassemble the steam valve. You'll be able to cycle it and observe the operation for adjustment. Also make sure the plastic knob isn't stripped internally and that the metal valve stem is actually turning with the knob.

My steamer wand has an awful odor everytime I try to steam something! I have cleaned it (even soaked in baking soda!) and the problem won't stop. Anyone else have this problem?

This is a common problem for the commercial espresso machines, Due to lack of cleaning of the steam wand after they finish frothing milk.
The milk flows back to the boiler and the water gets contaminated with milk.

Does the steam smells like rotten milk? If the answer is yes, you have contaminated water and or lines.
If not may be there is a lot of IRON in the water.

Run a descale cycle.

After you are done frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a wet towel and open the steam valve for 2 seconds, close it and that's it.

Unable to prime Sirena Espresso Machine

n regards of the no prime issue. this is the only way i could prime this new puppy.make sure its stone cold which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless its primed. first take off steamer plastic tip ,turn on steamer clock wise till pump starts. then **** the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems out of this world but it works. you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump. bravo enjoy!

Why won't my starbucks serina froth milk. Just stopped doing this all of a sudden. I descaled, the little hole in wand isn't blocked. The milk heats but no froth.

This problem developed on my Sirena machine about a week ago. Stopped frothing milk, but still produced lots of steam. In fact, it was splattering milk everywhere, just not producing foam. Cleaned the steam wand (including air intake) and descaled the machine (even though its only 3 months old) to no avail. Called Saeco customer support (1-800-933-7876) and the very helpful rep immediately identified the problem. Inside the Panarello steam wand is a removable plastic tube. The tip of this tube should protrude about 1/8" beyond the end of the steam wand. Mine was not. Using the eraser end of a pencil, I pushed the inner tube downward into position and, voila, I now have froth again.

Starbucks sirena won't heat up; blue light flashing-brand new

johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us:
  1. make sure the water in the tank is stone cold -- which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless it's primed.
  2. take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.
  3. then s*ck (as you would on a straw, with your lips sealed around the end of the steamer wand) the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops
  4. may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems crazy, but it works! you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump.

Starbucks sirena lights won't turn on

Just had this happen. Finally I let water run through the steam wand (thought it had to heat up first). Water ran through (until blue light stopped blinking) and now the other lights are blinking...we will see if it works now.

My sirena does not work

anytime the water runs out and you need to refill the tank, you need to bleed the line so to speak. Take an empty cup and put it under the wand and open the knob of the steam wand until the blue light stops flashing
