Point to Point T1 Using Cisco 2800 Routers?

Need a configuration (that works) to setup a Cisco 2811 connecting a 2821 router to pass T1 traffic between two PBX's. Both routers are on the same network and have VWIC-2MFT-T1 cards installed. The T1 connection will be used to connect two telephone system PBX's togather.
Example: PBX-1 to Cisco to IP to Cisco to PBX-2.

Did you ever get this problem fixed

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Can you provide the text from a "show version" and "show run" command? The required configuration may vary somewhat, depending on the specific software version on the router(s).

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Setup ea4500 router

You must use your Cisco Connect CD Install, this runs a wizard, otherwise you need to know default IP address, administrator password and some other data.

Can Cisco do the equivalant of Nortel DISA

DISA can only be accomplished using Cisco callmanager and it's accompanying product unified contact center expresss.  You would have to build a custom script in contact center express to accomplish this.  If you are interested, please contact me @ [email protected] for further info.

E1 or T1 to pabx to router to softphone

Yes, configure second Cisco E1 port to simulate you telcom (network side) and connect it to PB, and first Cisco E1 to your telecom provider.

On Cisco router configure voice ports, and number manupilation, so you can catch any call and redirect it anywhere (Voip, Telco, PBX).

I tryed that with Ericcson, and it didn't work until connections where like these
telco <-> Cisco VoIP gateway (E1x2) <-> PBX

PBX's are not very flexible, Cisco is.

Going wireless with a T1 Line

Going wireless should not be influenced by the nature of your internet connection. Here, I will assume that your definition of "standard router" is the kind of router we can buy at any electronic store (DLink, Linksys). I you are think more about a high end router such as a Cisco 2600 or 2800, please post a comment and I will adjust my answer.

If you already have internet access through your T1 using a wired network, you may just add one (or more) Wireless Access Points to your existing network. No need for a router here since you already have one for connecting the wired network.

On the other side, if your T1 line will be dedicated to your Wireless access, then a router should do the job. Usualy a T1 line uses a static IP address on the WAN side. If your Wireless coverage required more than one Access Points, then I would suggest you to use a standard router (no Wifi) with seperate access points.

Difference between router

Hi,

Type II routers are Wireless ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) Routers. They are used as routers for connecting to the Internet Wi-Fi.(i.e)You may also call them as modem.Type II routers links a DSL to ISP(Internet Service Provider). You cannot change most of the Configuration of the type II routers, you allowed to change only few configurations.

Example ::
>>Cisco 3620
>>UTSTARCOM WA3002-g1

The Other Router like Cisco 1800 series /2800/ 3800/ 7600/ Catalyst 6500 Series, they are all Higher Routers, where u can configure and Program them, for connecting a LAN/WAN/MAN.

I hope is answered your question!!! Any more clarification, plz reply me!!

Thank YOU

Cisco VPN Client won't connect

You'll want to enable the VPN transparency. In the router's administrative web interface, click the Security Tab, then the VPN Passthrough sub-tab. Cisco VPN's usually use IPSEC, so enable the IPSEC Pass-through and click "Save Settings". If this doesn't work enable the PPTP Pass-through as well and give that a shot.
