Hi i have had an Acer Aspire 5630 for just over a month now and all of a suddon the screen seems to be permanantly stuck in the power saving mode, even when i change the power settings on the battery icon on the bottom right hand side on the toolbar, please help!!
Also when i press ctrl, alt, delete the blue screen shows up black with an error message and so you cannot fix a frozen computer.
Also when i run a song in itunes the song stops half way through and the pc just completely freezes
any help would be appreciated!!
Your model may only have 512 MG memory and an M-chip,not dual-core. Acer unloaded these cheap, with Vista, and Vista recommends at least 1 GB of memory--you will have interminable problems if this is the case. You can install 1 GB memory yourself, which you can find for around $30. You are still in warranty, so call Aspire at (800) 816-2237 for live help. If the "helper" doesn't address your problem, and just tells you to reinstall everything, demand to speak to a supervisor. Good luck.
May be this is an attack by some harmful viruses . i too experienced blue screens due to virus attack . downlaod avast proffesionl edition and install it (latest version availabel on katz.cd ) and scan computer at boot time ( avast only provides boot up scan ). otherwisw think of installing a fresh copy

When you pop in the cd, give it a few seconds, then open My Computer and double click the cd icon. You should then be able to see the files on the cd and click on the setup file.
reinstall os from cd.by shutting down in that manner he was probably in the middle of something and didnt close the program resulting in missing sys32 files which is why it wont start.this type of thing happens often and not only for that reason.
do you get anything at all on screen .
can u enter setup(bios)
try removing memory ,make sure free from dust and replace.
no screen is either missing memory, fault with hd(bad sectors)
fault with bios(hardly ever),damaged or dislodged graphics card or damaged cpu(processor)
