Remove the card and battery. Clean the battery contacts inside camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Be sure battery is charged. Press all buttons on camera. Insert card and then the battery. See if it works. If you can now get into the setup menu, you can do a reset from the menu.

I have a few digital cameras and have not used the FX01 for some time. Can anyone teach me how to set the date and time?

Press [MENU/SET] to display the menu and then press the left-arrow. Press down-arrow to select the Setup menu (the wrench icon) and then press right-arrow. Use up/down to select [CLOCK SET] and then press right-arrow.

Use left/right to move between fields, up/down to change data. Press [MENU/SET] repeatedly to get out of the menu.

Buttons don't work and can't zoom

hi
Some of those buttons work in combination with the two dials (i.e., setting ISO and white balance, etc.). Hold a buttin down and user the knobs simoultaneously.
If this is not the issue, please describe specifically which buttons are not workin...

Camera froze up w/ no button function

hello, these units have a very fine zoom switch and can get damaged by a drop or fine sand. the zoom switch sits under the actual button. if you turn the camera on in camera mode and the display is showing the zoom on screen display then you know it is the switch.

Camera problem

I have a Lumix DMC-TZ1 and my camera is having simular problems. The camera turns on but the buttons don't work. I can not zoom or take pictures. I can turn the auto stabilizing on and can change photo modes by turning the nob. But the menu button, nav buttons are not doing anything. The screen goes on and everything. I have tried removing the battery and nothing happens.

Panasonic lumix dmc-fx01 won't focus

See the post for the same camera: "Buttons stopped working": there is a small 2 position switch connected to the zoom button. In my camera the zoom switch was stuck in one of the extreme positions. You have to put it back in the middle an re-assemble.

The scene mode is in one loop!!!!!

I had this exact problem. The FX01 thought I was holding down the 'up' button! I sent it back under warranty and they replaced the board. However that doesn't mean it was unfixable; it's just cheaper for them to replace boards than test them and fix them. IMO.
