If there are several programs that allow, reset the password, some would say it is and others simply deleted, the latter being the most effective, some have to be paid and some are free, the Ophcrack is one of the best free, and the PC Helper is a good option if you are not interested in restoring the old password, simply search Google for Password reset or Password recovery and find an unlimited list, I hope having served

I bought a 2004 grand Prix the ignition switch had been damaged so I bought another one out of a 2005 and a bcm and now it will crank with a jumper from the relay but it does and it won't crank at all...

what can I do ? Nothing . take it to a qualified repair shop. With these vehicles you can't just swap parts an expect it to work . Anti-theft system will not allow the vehicle to start , the bcm is configured for the other vehicle . By ignition switch ,what are you talking about ? Key part or behind there is the electrical part ? Key an lock cylinder The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system functions are provided by the body control module (BCM). When an ignition key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition is switched ON, the BCM supplies battery voltage to the theft deterrent exciter module. The transponder embedded in the head of the key is energized by the theft deterrent exciter module which is surrounding the ignition lock cylinder. The energized transponder transmits a signal that contains its unique value, which is received by the theft deterrent exciter module. The BCM monitors the theft deterrent exciter module for the transponder value via the security system sensor signal circuit. The BCM then compares this value to a value stored in memory, learned key code. If the value is correct the BCM sends the fuel continue password via the serial data circuit to the powertrain control module (PCM). If the transponders value is incorrect the BCM will send the fuel disable password to the PCM via the serial data circuit. The components of the VTD system are as follows:
• Body control module (BCM)
• Theft deterrent exciter module
• Powertrain control module (PCM)
• Ignition key (Transponder)
• Ignition lock cylinder
• Security indicator You really have no clue as to what's happening , Take it to a qualified repair shop. You can't by pass the anti-theft system .

2000 grand am security light comes on can i bypass that with remote start

Are you the one who bought the vehicle new ? Replaced ignition switch or the ignition lock cylinder ? No , sorry, but a remote start will not by pass anti-theft system .

The vehicle theft deterrent system is designed in order to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the fuel injectors unless the lock cylinder is correctly engaged by a mechanical key. The theft deterrent system uses the following 4 components for theft prevention:
• The lock cylinder
• The ignition switch
• The body control module (BCM)
• The powertrain control module (PCM)
When starting the engine, the PCM searches for a password from the BCM through the Class 2 serial data circuit. If the password is not recognized or not present, the PCM will disable the engine. Two modes of tamper detection are provided:
No password received
The engine will start and stall quickly. SECURITY telltale will flash on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and then stay ON steady.
Incorrect or disable password received (More than 3 invalid passwords are received)
The engine is disabled for at least 10 minutes and the SECURITY telltale will illuminate solid on the IPC during the 10 minutes.
After the vehicle has passed theft detection, the PCM will continue normal operation.

I need to get passed the anti theft reset to get my 2000 cad.devlle.going, just bought it, I need help to locate fuse boxes, would like to trade somebody for a sharp running truck or car straight across,...

One is under the hood in the engine compartment an Rear Fuse Block
Left rear of the passenger compartment, under the rear seat ! There are a couple of fuse's , but they power up the ignition an the PCM ,so you can't pull those ! Beside that if the PCM does not get a fuel enable signal from the anti-theft module the vehicle won't start . You can't just disable thing's on this vehicle ! If you have security light on steady or flashing you need to take it to someone who has a diagnostic scan tool that can check DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! A code reader can not access these type codes !
Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD)Circuit Description
(VTD) Theft Deterrent System Components
Ignition Key (Transponder) The ignition key for the (VTD) theft deterrent system is a typical ignition key with a transponder pellet located in the plastic end of the key. The ignition key transponder value is used to determine if a valid ignition key is being used to start the vehicle, there are approximately three trillion different transponder values available. This vehicle has two types of ignition keys.
?€¢
Master key (black plastic end) which can start the vehicle and lock/unlock all door locks, all storage compartments and the rear compartment lid lock.

?€¢
Valet key (gray plastic end) which can start the vehicle and unlock/lock all doors, but can not unlock/lock the storage compartments, or rear compartment lid lock.

Important: The transponder values are not readable and can not be serviced separately.
Theft Deterrent Module The theft deterrent module contains the software for controlling the VTD System. The theft deterrent module uses the following inputs and outputs to control the VTD system.
Inputs ?€¢
Battery voltage from the underhood fuse block PCM/BATT fuse, circuit 240 (ORN).

?€¢
Ignition start voltage from the ignition switch, circuit 1390 (WHT).

?€¢
Ground, circuit 450 (BLK).
Outputs Password exchange with the PCM (fuel enable), class 2 message circuit 1807 (PPL).
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) The PCM verifies that the passwords received from the theft deterrent module via the class 2 serial data line are valid. If a password is invalid the PCM disables the fuel delivery system. If the password is valid the PCM enables the fuel delivery system.
Starter Relay The starter relay is controlled by the PCM module via class 2 serial data (CKT 1807 PPL). If the theft deterrent module measures the correct transponder value, the PCM module switches the starter enable control (CKT 447 YEL) to ground. The relay is energized if the ignition switch is in the START position and the gear selector is in the PARK or NEUTRAL positions.

98 cherokee turns over but won't start no power to wiring at fuel pump an on the dash ther is a orange key with a line throw it what does it mean

This indicator light is related to the vehicle security system, which checks that the key you are using is authentic. If it is flashing, you have a key with no chip in it, a bad ring antenna, or other fault in the security system.
Instructions
    • 1Turn the ignition switch off.
    • 2Insert the key into the driver's side door.
    • 3Turn the key clockwise to lock it.
    • 4Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock it. The alarm system recognizes an authorized key was used and the system resets.
As a side note if that doesnt work try it in the rear hatch. good luck hope this helped.

I have dell inspiron 1545 bios password and don't know what to do!

I use http://www.unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_Dell_Bios.php to get the bios master password that clears the current bios password. You then have full access to the bios setup. I have use them many times with no problems. I come across a lot of Dell laptops that have their bios password set for no reason. I think there may be a bug in the bios that causes it to set bios password.

2000 Alero - Internal Security system malfunctioning. Sometimes (randomly) when I try to start the car it will not start and the red "security:" light flashes. I have to wait 10 minutes while the key is in...

The engine is disabled for at least 10 minutes and the SECURITY telltale will illuminate solid on the IPC during the 10 minutes.
After the vehicle has passed theft detection, the PCM will continue normal operation.

Passlock™ Lock Cylinder
The Passlock™ lock cylinder is a locking cylinder that turns a rotating magnet past a stationary hall effect sensor. This action creates the Passlock™ cylinder data. The Passlock™ cylinder data is sent to the Body Control Module (BCM). The Passlock™ lock cylinder is interfaced with the BCM via a 3-wire connection:
• Power
• Ground
• Data

Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located on the lower left side of the instrument panel.
The PCM communicates with the Body Control Module (BCM) via serial data over the class 2 serial data bus, CKT 1807. When the BCM determines a passed theft condition, the BCM sends a coded password to the PCM. When the PCM receives the correct password, the PCM enables the fuel injection system, allowing the vehicle to operate correctly. The PCM may allow the car to start and quickly stall during a failed theft condition.
The following conditions may cause the PCM to enter a tamper mode:
• A bad timing cycle
• An incorrect password
If the BCM does not receive a password within a preset time window, the BCM will enter a short tamper mode. During this mode, the PCM will not allow the car to operate for 4 seconds.
If the password is incorrect, the PCM will enter the long tamper mode. In the long tamper mode, the following actions will occur:
• The THEFT SYSTEM indicator will flash.
• The fuel injectors will be shut off for approximately 10 minutes.
Although the vehicle may start, the engine will quickly stall due to a fuel cut-off.
In the event of an open in the serial data communication between the BCM and the PCM, the following actions occur:
• The PCM will become fail-enabled if the car has already passed theft for that ignition cycle (i.e. the engine is running).
• The PCM may set the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).
• The THEFT SYSTEM indicator will light continuously.
• The PCM will become fail-enabled for future ignition cycles.
If a failure occurs in serial data before the ignition cycle, while the PCM is not fail-enabled, the PCM will never receive a valid password in order to enable the continued use of the fuel injectors.
