Adjusting printheads - won't stop and keeps printing blank pages

I received a message - replace print head. I installed new black printhead - now it won't stop adjusting printheads. As its doing this it keeps feeding pages through - which turn out blank. If I unplug the USB cable it stops. I ran a diagnostic check (when usb is disconnected) and it prints page fine. Any Ideas whats up with it?

There wasn't any print jobs open. It was printing with little or no words before I replaced the printhead. The beginning of the page would be fine but about 1/4 the way down the page, the print would get lighter to where you could not see it. It was flashing a message to change it - so I assumed this was the reason for the bad print. I installed a brand new ink cartridge too. I thought that was the problem - as it was blinking low.

    Thanks for your help.

I replaced both the black print head & the black cartridge. I was getting an error message saying to change the print head and the second message was telling me the black cartridge was low. I normally don't change the cartridge until it stops printing - but I was just trying anything.

On the menu, go through maintenance - align printheads. Should stop.

Hi Did you have any print jobs sent to the printer before replacing the printhead. It seems that the printer is trying to print a job and since the usb cable has been disconnected and reconnected the printer is printing blank pages or misc text.

HP 6940 won't print black-new cartridge installed-prints color but no black

In all likelihood your print head has become clogged at the black ink outlet. Be aware that printheads can BURN OUT if you keep trying to print and there's insufficient ink reaching the printhead. The ink flow is relied upon to prevent overheating of the tiny resistors at the printhead. Best bet is to remove the cartridges from the printhead and then remove the printhead and try to clean it in warm water. You will find many youtube videos on suggestions for cleaning the printheads on HP printers. Do a google search for your model. If all else fails you can order replacement printheads for the part that has failed. They are not cheap so price compare. Oftentimes they will cost nearly as much as a new printer!

Doing the "clean printhead/cartridge nozzles" multiple times would have cleared clogged nozzles. You can also try to manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a slightly moistened soft cloth. If that still won't help, try to replace your cartridge with a different known working cartridge to determine if your other cartridge is faulty.

Hello there:
This problem is usually due to a print head that needs to be replaced
I have provided the information that you will need ok
best regards mike
This document provides information on how to replace a printhead or ink cartridge.A printhead may need replacing when print quality issues cannot be resolved by cleaning the printheads or a front-panel display message indicates a printhead needs to be replaced. An ink cartridge needs replacing when a front-panel display message indicates either:
  • Low ink levels
  • Ink cartridge approaching expiration date
CAUTION: Never remove an ink cartridge and a printhead at the same time. Use the table below to identify the correct ink cartridge part number: Ink cartridge Part number HP 14 black print cartridge C5011A HP 14 tri-color print cartridge C5010A Use the table below to identify the correct printhead part number: Printhead Part number HP 14 black printhead C4920A HP 14 cyan printhead C4921A HP 14 magenta printhead C4922A HP 14 yellow printhead C4923A Replacing the ink cartridges Follow the instructions below to replace the ink cartridges:

A blank page when coping or printing in black. New black & yellow ink installed. Cleaned print heads, run all the diagnostics, but no black shows up. Cyan, magenta & yellow print, but no black.

As with all of the solutions I've provided on this and the other HP88 printers, the problem is that the black printhead has become clogged due to the conditions the printer is kept in.

For some reason the pigment black ink in the HP88 printhead is particularly prone to clogging when used in hot, dry conditions where there is air conditioning or similar...

The only solution I have found to date is to replace the black ink with a dyebase alternative and use that with a new printhead. Finding this solution took me about 14 printheads and a lot of head scratching so it wasn't easy...

Finding a dyebase alternative may be difficult but whatever you do, make sure you purchase a remanufactured original HP OEM, not one of the all plastic designs with no black rubber bulb in the bottom of the printer. They fail and leak a LOT!.

Hope that helps..

Ip90 printer does not print blac on a test after

Sounds like the printhead is plugged on the black side. A new printhead is #qy6-0052-000 around $40.00. That model also needs a firmware update to help it clean the printhead better.

KODAK 5300 WILL NOT PRINT

try try again..........

I had this problem;

Printhead replacement instructions are in the users guide.

THIS WORKED FOR ME --AND IF YOU CALL THE TECH SUPPORT # KODAK WILL SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT HEAD........
Power on printer, the printhead rides on a carriage that is connected to the ribbon cable. When the printhead is in the center position and movement is stopped REMOVE THE INK CARRIAGES. DO NOT TOUCH THE INK-PADS OR THE CONNECTION POINTS. You can just place the ink carriages on their side on a clean piece of paper.

......... To separate the printhead from the carriage press the release botton(above the bulls-eye sticker) in the top center of the printhead. You will hear a click and the top of the prinhead will pop forward about 1/4 of an inch. GENTLY lift from back (where you pressed the botton) to front and lift the printhead up and out of the printer.
---------U will see where the printhead and the carriage connect-------

It is best (very important) to not touch the shiny contact area

Now you are ready to install your new printhead.

BE CAREFUL BE GENTLE............Place the new printhead into the carriage and again at the center top back bulls-eye press back until you hear the click and the printhesd is secured in the carriage.......... replace the ink carriages.......

I would power off the printer and wait about 60 seconds then power on and run self test.

TO RUN SELF TEST

power on the printer and wait until the printhead is in the center position THEN press photo and copy buttons at the same time, you will hear the printhead carriage start to move and a test print page will print.

CHECK for print quailty; run all diag. from the help tab as needed.

REMEMBER; IF YOU THINK THE PLASTIC WILL CRACK U ARE PRESSING TOO HARD....... KEEP IT CLEAN, BE SAFE
