Problem sounds strange, have you checked the breaker for the dryer in your electrical panel. always start at the source and work your way to the dryer, breaker, outlet to dryer, then dryer. if all ok will trouble shoot the dryer

I am sorry to hear this, mdg model number means that you have a gas dryer, you have a fuse and thermastat that needs to be replaced which is beneath the top behind the drum, you will see a short element, a blue thermastat and 2 white wires that goes down to a fuse.

when you buy the fuse, it comes as a kit, the thermastat and 2 fuses, one of the small fuses you will not use because one if for an electric dryer, so look at your fuse and notice a dot, i do believe your dot will be yellow...

so lift up the top and you will see these parts

Sounds like timer motor is bad. Most likely will have to replace timer.

My maytag model mdg9206bww dryer will not shut off on permanent press or delicates, it will dry somewhat but the unit never shuts off, if I put it on timed air fluff, the timer goes and it shuts off...

When was the last time you got your ducts cleaned? If they r full of lint then the moist air never gets outside and stays in the machine hence the clothes never dry. Might not solve the issue but they need to be done as they r also a fire hazard.

I have a stackable washer/dryer gas maytag. Purchased around 17 years ago. The dryer is not drying clothes. Gas is powered fine and it is heating up. The cycle seems shorter than normal

Hello,
The problem with it not drying is most likely going to be a worn out blower wheel thats slipping and not moving the warm air through the clothes to dry them properly. Always a pretty good sign the blower is slipping is,if you hear a rumble noise from the dryer at start up and also that same rumbling noise when the power stops. So if you hear it at start up...wait 30 seconds and open the door and listen for the rumble noise as drum stops. also you can check where the vent exits the house and see if their is air flow when the dryer is running.

The Timer Knob on my Maytag Dryer does not move. The drying just goes on and on unless I notice and stop the dryer.

While the dryer is turning slowly advance the timer knob to the end of the cycle. The dryer should stop. It sounds as if the timer motor has died or is not being powered for some reason and is not advancing the timer.

Dryer won't shut off after cycle

i got to know what cycle you are using the timed dry or the auto cycle timed dry you may have a bad timer if auto dry it coult be the auto dry resistor or it could be a clogged vent.

Timer runs continuously - Does not stop at all

There should be a timer motor on the timer. That is most likely burnt out and will cause the timer to not shut down. Just replace the timer and that will solve the problem

MAYTAG SDE3606AZW ELECTRIC DRYER

Does the dryer dry fine? If your dryer is taking too long too dry you might have a venting obstruction that is not allowing the dryer too sense that the clothes are dry so the timer won't advance. Try disconnecting the vent from the back of the dryer and dry a load unvented and see if the timer advances.

Maytag DE 412

Does sound like the timer, although the clock is moving, the contact for the heater element is burned out inside the timer, you probably have used this timed dry for your normal day to day use and worn out the contact, new timer required.
