Buckets of water leaking but the reservoir is dry!!!!

I have a PAC 03 U model that functioned well until this summer. Now it's leaking buckets. Sometimes the water goes into the reservoir but most of the time it spills all over the hardwood floor. The filters have been cleaned and there doesn't appear to be any obstructions in the intakes. I'm getting weary 'babysitting' the airconditioner! Any solutions??? HELP.

If you have cleaned the air filters then that is the first step. Next you want to check the condenser coil. That is the coil that is outside. If it is dirty you will have a low charge situation which could cause lots of condensation. Also if the condenser coil on the outside is clean and you are getting lots of water than you my have low charge of refridgerant. If that is the case you will need a professional to come and charge the unit and find the leak. Did you check to see that the unit is level. Because is should drain to the outside. The unit should be installed in a way that the water drains to the outside.

Dehumidifier VS. Air conditioner

A dehumidifier is basically the same thing as an air conditioner but both coils (condenser and evaporator) are in the same unit meaning a dehumidifier exhaust warm air in the same room it is in. running a dehumidifier would make an air conditioner run more because of the warm exhaust, when you run an air conditioner it acts like a dehumidifier and dries the air. As far as saving energy it all depends on the size of the AC and dehumidifier and the size of the room. If you want warm dry air, use a dehumidifier; if you want cool dry air run the AC but not both.
How do all these parts fit together to pull moisture from the air? It's fairly simple, but very effective:
  1. A fan collects air from the surrounding area and pulls it into the dehumidifier.
  2. As the air passes through, it comes into contact with the dehumidifier's cooled coils. These coils use condensation to pull moisture from the air. The collected moisture remains on the coils and drips into the dehumidifier's reservoir.
  3. The dehumidifier reheats the air and exhausts it back into the room.
A dehumidifier usually has a removable plastic bucket for are reservoir; most buckets also have a place where you can hook up a hose so the collected water can drain straight into a floor drain or pump. This frees you from having to remember to dump out the water. But don't worry too much about the reservoir overflowing -- most dehumidifiers also have an automatic shut-off. If you're using a dehumidifier in extremely moist conditions,however, or if you need to keep your dehumidifier on all the time, you should look into a unit with a built-in condensate pump, which regularly pumps water out of the unit's reservoir rather than simply relying on gravity to empty it as a hose does.

Water leaking from beneath unit. Some water enter buckets some leaking onto floor. Can't use the unit it leaks so much.

Look for the drain tube which sends the water to the buckets. It may be disconnected or misaligned allowing the water to go the wrong way. The tube can also be stopped up. Blow through it to clear.

In 3 buckets, two Buckets filled with 20 litres of water, first- 19 litres capacity(max) second- 13 litres capacity(max)-Filled third- 7 litres capacity(max) -Filled i need to fill 2 buckets with 10...

Assume the following:
B1 = 19 litres capacity
B2 = 13 litres capacity
B3 = 7 litres capacity

B2 and B3 are full. The answer is:

1. Pour 2 litres from B3 to B1
2. Pour 8 litres from B2 to B1
3. Pour the remaining 5 litres in B3 to B2

Another answer:

1. Pour 10 litres from B2 to B1
2. Pour 7 litres from B3 to B2

In both answers you will get 10 litres in two buckets.

Water in the dashboard Porsche Cayenne

I have been hearing and experiencing some sort of reservoir of water swishing around in the passenger side of my 2004 Cayenne. The carpet is soggy and there is evidence of moisture intrusion when I open the doors. There is a film of moisture on around the lower door jams. Of course Porsche is nowhere to be found in this discussion. My beautiful car is now a camel and I can not findc a descent explanation anywhere. Your post is the closest thing I can find. And did the "garage" charge you to extract the five buckets of water? The folks at Porcsche have no idea and no one else has "had" the problem. WTF?

I have a Delonghi PAC A120LE air conditioner that leaks water. How do I stop or divert outside? I noticed there is a drain on the back - should I put a hose on that?

OK. This fixed my A120LE from leaking. First unplug the machine for safety. If you are looking at the back of the unit you need to take off the right side panel. I took off the all the panels but you could just take off the right side.

There is a reservoir on the top that collects condensation from the top coil. (shown in the circle) The drain hole on mine was clogged. If you stick a small screwdriver or paperclip in the hole to push the debris through it should start working properly again. I did this to mine yesterday and it hasn't leaked since!! Drain hole is shown here in close up picture. Unclogging this will allow the condensation to flow down to the main reservoir on the bottom where it will be evaporated in the AC exhaust.
