HP DV 1000 Keyboard Replacement

My HP DV 1000 keyboard needs to be replaced. How do i remove and replace the keyboard. The HP site does not give instructions for this model.

    Replaced CPU fan -that went fine...after I got laptop back together the keyboard didn't work....everything else does... any suggestions?

    Bummer. Friend poured coffee in her keyboard. If I could get the damned thing open, I could clean it up and maybe maybe it would work. So, How's that keyboard come off?

    My 3 year old baby took out a few keyboard pieces so I have to replace it completely. Do you know how can I order a replacement keyboard for my HP DV 1000, as they tell me it can only be replaced in an authorized service. The issue is I live now in Romania and I preffered the spare part to be shipped there, as I found a service ready to do the replacement, but then guess what? They do not ship anything for HP DV 1000 in Romania...

    What can i DO?

    I have splilt red wine on my laptop, now certain keys are not working, G, H, backspace and @ for example. Will a new keyboard solve this problem? My laptop is HP Pavilion dv1670ea is this the correct keyboard. Also is this easy to replace do you get any instructions on how to replace the keyboard.

    my laptop's keyboard is mad, so I need to keyboard replacement. In fact, I spilt water on that....

    how to remove old keyboard? I hope somebody has a manual.

To get old keyboard out you need to take battery out of back and there will be 2 screws with a keyboard symbol by them unscrew them and then just pop the keyboard out

My daughters pavillion has the same problem with g,h, quotes and backspace keys and no spilled wine here. did you find a solution? (btw,typin daughter and usin copy paste is no small feat!)

Keyoard o hp dv-6 laptop has keys that will ot work ay more
Connect an USB keyboard to your laptop and if the keyboard functions normally then you need to replace the laptop's keyboard or just use the USB keyboard.

I have a hp mini110-3617tu. currently, i couldn't type t,y,g,h and "backspace". if i press g ot t, it will come out as gt. please help!!!!
Most of the time, this sort of problem means that the keyboard is toast. You can try to unplug and replug the connector first, but if it doesn't work you need to replace the keyboard.
Refer to this service manual for instructions on removing the keyboard:

There should be an HP sticker on the bottom of the keyboard with a model number in the format ######-### (for example, 448592-001). You can search for this on ebay to find an inexpensive replacement keyboard.

How do I removee my keyboard and get a replacent?
Removing the keyboard can be a somewhat daunting task, until you have instructions accompanied by some good illustrations..

you need to talk to a tech spport personally for a step by step process of reomoving and replacing the keyboard. they dont post manuals on their site.

Seems like it actually may be a problem with the keyboard. Could be that those particular buttons are faulty. I would try a new keyboard. They seem to be cheap enough these days!!Hope this helps!

If a section of keys isn't working at all, you'll likely need a new keyboard.  If the problem is with IOPUJKL:M keys you may have the Numlock on.
