Pioneer vsx 808 rds poweroff?

I have a pioneer vsx 808 rds that powers off when its turned on would you know whats causingt this as the repair centre dont know what it is without looking and i dont want to start paying money on somethink that cant be fixed cheers mat

Have you tried the owners manual (not the repair manual)? It will probably have something about this. It may be that this is the generic message that the unit gives you when you have a bad output channel which would put it into a protection mode.

Check for a bad ground on the input circuit board. you will need to re-solder them. Remove top cover and rear panel (many screws on rear panel) The input board can easily be accessed and resoldered. you should also check for a bad ground on the speaker jacks. If it is not repaired, sooner or later you will probably need an output IC. good luck.

POWER OFF alert

When you turn on receiver it will power off. Poweroff shows up and than turns off. if the front panal reads over load the output ic pac001a is defective i had repaired this model before
