Pioneer vsx 808 rds poweroff?

if it's shutting down when you increase the volume, this usually indicates a bad speaker.

Have you tried the owners manual (not the repair manual)? It will probably have something about this. It may be that this is the generic message that the unit gives you when you have a bad output channel which would put it into a protection mode.

Most likely it needs one of the output ICs. But check for cold solder rings on the ground connections of the input board. Est. for it to be repaired $100-$120

Im having this same problem. It happened after I had the music up really loud for about 3 hours. Also, where it has the volume all i see is -- instead of a number when i try to turn it on

Check for a bad ground on the input circuit board. you will need to re-solder them. Remove top cover and rear panel (many screws on rear panel) The input board can easily be accessed and resoldered. you should also check for a bad ground on the speaker jacks. If it is not repaired, sooner or later you will probably need an output IC. good luck.

Maybe the audio amplifier IC is damaged and you gotta change it.Good luck.

Hay que chequear los alambres de los parlantes..yo tuve el mismo problema..desconectè todos los alambres de los altavoces y luego los reconectè...y allì estuvo la soluciòn...

It may be a PROTECT MODE. Check is your other equipment properly connected to receiver.

When you turn on receiver it will power off. Poweroff shows up and than turns off. if the front panal reads over load the output ic pac001a is defective i had repaired this model before
