My lan drivers disappeared after formatting optiplex GX260. What do i do?

You'll need to access Dell's Drivers and Downloads page from another computer that has internet access, and supply the Service Tag (or other method of choice) information to obtain a list of drivers for your GX260. Assuming you're using the original LAN card, you'll have to download and install the required driver to restore network functionality from the Dell site (if other than a GX260 LAN card, you'll have to go to the LAN card manufacturer's site for drivers).

There may be more than one LAN driver from which to choose. If unsure which version you have - you'll need to get all of them and install them one at a time until you find the one needed by your machine.

Please rate this reply if it was helpful to you - good luck!

I want install sound driver in my computer gx260

You will find the drivers for this model here on Dell's support site.
This model was sold as a small businees model by Dell. If you have the original Resource CD, you can run it and pull the drivers the CD suggests.
If not, the link will give the files.

I had to wipe clean my Dell Optiplex gx260, now I cant get it online. Help! We have uverse and they said its not on their end.

Make sure you have installed network adapter drivers from drivers cd since this has to be done after reinstalling OS on dell pc's. You can also go online on another computer if you dont have cd and just search for it on dell.com they are free. Hope this helps.

Dell OptiPlex GX260 ethernet driver troubleshooting. I installed the network driver for Gx260 and after i properly installed it and then restarted my PC. I went to the device manager and there where still...

Hi
one thing with GX series is that there were multiple network adapters used. if this is the onboard i would try this driver from dell's site.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R54402&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_GX260&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2811&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=5&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=64589

if you dont have internet access on your gx260, youll need to download to another computer and then transfer it by flash drive or external hard drive.

once you have the driver on your gx260, then;

1. If you installed any of the network management utilities from dells site, uninstall those.
2. in device manager, find your network card, click on it and then remove it from the device manager.
3. shutdown completely (not just a restart) and then power up. all the new hardware prompts to come up and hit cancel to any of them.
4. find the dell driver package R54402.EXE, from wherever you have saved it to on flash drive, external hard drive or gx hard drive. double click on it to run.
5. once the installation is finished, reboot again.
If this doesnt solve it then there are several other drivers, but this is the most commonly used one.
If you still have problems with it, then reply in here and can help you further.

Hope this helps. and if it does, please dont forget to rate.

I want to download the ethernet driver

Here is a link to the network drivers for the GX260. There are 3 options for ethernet drivers, one by Dell and two by Intel. You will need to try each to see which one works.

Missing Drives for Dell Optiplex GX260 PC Desktop Problem

if you don't have the cd with the drivers and utilities, then you can download the drivers online with another computer. (you will need a thumb drive or cd to save it on) you will also need to make sure you know what brand of ethernet card your computer came with. once you get that ethernet card working, you can get online and download the remaining drivers, possibly through windows update. be sure to select custom update, not express, so it will search for the hardware drivers for you.
