The presser foot needs to be tightened. Try that :-)

all machines thread the same. TTN tension,take up, needle.
Beginning
with the spool, guide the thread through the thread guides to the
tension assembly. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test
it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this
test,adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something
in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the
tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the
thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test,
continue up through the take up lever,then down through the thread
guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and
turned the correct way.( If you load your bobbin case from the left
side,the needle rule is normally FLAT to the RIGHT is RIGHT. There are
some exceptions. If you have a newer style drop in bobbin or your
bobbin case loads in the front then the rule is FLAT to the BACK.
To wind the bobbin, guide the thread around the thread guide on
the left top of your machine, then to the bobbin winder. Wind the thread around the bobbin several times, place the bobbin on top of the bobbin winder, push it against the wheel and press the foot pedal. It should stop winding when the bobbin is full or you take your foot off the control

Try moving the stitch length dial to 4 or 5 - check the manual. You may have it in the position for very close together sewing. I had to do a lot of trying with my 4795 to get it to work right. I found that very thin thread, polyester kind, broke at the needle after a couple of stitches. I switched to coats & clarks thread and a Singer ball point needle and it works fine. Be sure your needle is inserted with the flat top toward the back of the machine. Good luck!

Here are several solutions to try.
- Re-thread your machine. It may be threaded incorrectly (backwards).
- Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.
- When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.
- Reinsert your needle and make sure it goes all the way into the holder and that it’s positioned correctly – usually with the flat side away from the bobbin, but consult your machine’s manual to be sure.
- Change your needle, it may be blunt, bent, or otherwise damaged.
- Your fabric may require a different needle. Generally, heavier fabrics require larger needles and thinner fabrics, smaller needles. You may also need a larger needle if you’re sewing through many layers of fabric. And make sure to use a ballpoint needle for knit fabrics and a sharp needle for woven (or a universal needle for either). Make sure your needle is appropriate for the type of thread you’re using.
- Adjust the pressure of your pressure foot. It may be too light for your fabric.
- Change your thread. If your upper thread and bobbin threads are different types, try using the same thread for both. And use a good quality, brand name thread.
- Adjust your thread tension, It may be too tight or too loose.
- Change your needle plate. Try switching to a needle plate with a smaller hole (a straight stitch needle plate).
Important Note: After changing your needle plate, check to make sure your needle aligns perfectly with the smaller hole before starting to sew. A misaligned needle could hit the plate and break, which could be dangerous. And make sure to change your needle plate back for zigzag and other wide stitches.
