No audio through Vista

I just bought an Xbox 360 and I am using my computer to run it. I bought an VGA cable for it have connected it properly to the monitor for video and to the line in jack for audio. I am getting an image with the video cable but for some reason I'm not getting any audio. I have unmuted both the line in and microphone in the sound settings but there is still no sound. However, there the computer is getting a signal because the equalizer bar is indicating that there is sound. Furthermore, I tried to record some sound from the microphone with Vista's sound recorder and when I play it back I can here the audio from the xbox. There just isnt sound coming directly from the xbox without recording. Any ideas?

No input signal VGA/Xbox

You are doing nothing wrong. The best thing to do, which you are doing, is to eliminate possible problems. Try a different cable, monitor etc until you narrow the problem down to a single component.

Can i connect my xbox 360 using Dvi D to Hdmi in the dvi slot and also my tower to the vga slot on my eMachines E19T6W

I am not an xbox person, but as far as hooking it up, it should work as long as the other device is NOT powered up. That being said you will still have to provide audio from the xbox another way as dvi only carries a video signal, unlike the hdmi which carries both audio and video.

Can I use my HP2009v computer screen with the X-Box 360 Elite

Hello,

In order to make this work you need the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable.

Following link will give you an image of the cable itself:

Unfortunately you wont be able to get the highest resolution with the cable.

Here you have a list of supported resolutions:

PS3 setup to Denon AVR 2807 & Samsung LCD

Azahid

Since you are running the to LCD monitor instead of a LCD TV this is where you run into the issue. because the monitor is not setup to pull out the audio from the HDMI connection. So there is a few ways that you maybe able to to this.

The first one is look around at the different output cables out there the PS3. (I just got one so I do not know the accessories that are out for the PS3) This is becoming a common setup so if Sony does not have cable that will split off the audio then a 3rd party group may. I know they have one like that for the XBOX 360.

Another you can try is if your monitor will except an analog connection you may need to go that way. That is how I have my XBOX 360 that is my room connected. I have a RBG HD to VGA connect the VGA input on the monitor and the audio going to my sound card.

The reason why I suggested going analog is that right with our curent technology that if you are run with the 2 formats at the same time you will get audio/video sync issues. So you need to go all analog or all digital.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions on this and/or need me to clarify anything.

Xbox 360 pro

Salutations LHmom,

Because your using laptop computers and a mobile carrier for your internet services this will be a little harder then normal but not imposable.

First what you would need is a ethernet switch or hub. This should allow you use the laptop with the Verizon card as a "Gateway". You would then connect the Xbox 360 to the hub and it would share the internet from the laptop.

Windows XP, and Vista have nice networking wizards that can walk you through the settings. But be aware you may need to change the settings back when you are not using the Xbox 360.

Hope this helps.

Xbox 360 to pc vga

You need to connect your xbox 360 to your monitors VGA port, not your graphics card. The VGA on the graphics cards are outputs for the PC.
