Before replacing belt check the space between the drum and the front AND rear seals with your fingers for foreign objects caught there. This may make the drum too tight to turn. Belt is usually broken before it needs replacing.

Also check idler pulley next to motor and motor itself with belt off both pulleys making sure they both turn freely. I think something is binding. Check all those BEFORE replacing belt.

Disconnect plug before opening unit.

My kenmore dryer makes a loud rattling noise like it has belts with metal buckles tumbling around inside of it.

This happens when coins get inside the metal vanes that tumble the clothes inside the dyer. It can also happen if a belt wears off a strip of the belt that starts slapping the interior walls as it turns. A third way is for one or more of the the rear support rollers of the drum to become worn.
The first two causes can be checked by watching the first minute and 20 seconds to see how to raise the top of the machine. Be SURE to unplug the machine FIRST and not plug back in until FULLY assembled correctly.

Once top is raised turn tub very slowly clockwise (inspect belt for fraying as you turn) until screws show up that attach the inner vanes to the tub wall. Remove these screws to check the interior of the van inside the drum for foreign objects and remove. Complete one vane, reattach and move onto the next. If you don't find ANY objects in the vanes move on in the video to the 3 minute mark and you will see the 2 rear support rollers. Check them for wobbling or tightness and replace if necessary.

The Final Possibility could be a very wobbly idler pulley that needs to be replaced on the floor of the dryer. I have included a picture of the belt configuration if you need MORE disassembly than just the top.

How do i replace the belt on a White Knight 427WV tumble dryer

There should be a access panel at the back of your dryer.
Take it off and flip the belt onto the motor pulley. Good Luck.

Blower works but it wont tumble. is it the belt? and where is it?

Very very likely it is the belt.
The belt is most easily inspected by removing the service panel on back of the unit at the bottom. It's easy. Don't forget to unplug the unit before removing the panel. The belt should be snug on the tensioner and around the motor drive pulley.
If the belt is broken, you'll have to take the top off of the dryer to make change it.
Ask for help replacing the belt if you need it!

Timing belt on 1996 mazda protege slips during startup

Hello, this to me sounds like your fan belt slipping (not timing belt). To adjust the fan belt you need to undo your bolt on the alternator, pull it tight onto the fan belt and while holding it tight do the bolt back up tightly. this will stop yoour fan belt from slipping. I hope this helps.

How di change the belt on a 2000 maytag top load washer?

HI. you may have a defective idler pulley. excessive bearing clearance can cause the belt to slip off at times. A worn belt will slip off as well. i suggest gaining access to the belt to inspect for damage. you can start by pressing in the middle of the longest straight run. It should deflect no more that one inch. also inspect the belt for cracks, frayed edges or other signs of excessive wear. if any damage or excessive looseness is found, replace asap. It could also be stretched.

((You can check the pulley by removing the belt and physically rotating the pulley, if the pulley has excessive wobbling or shifting, replace it))

Whirlpool LER7646EQ2 Dryer Does Not Tumble

You need to remove the top. If the filter is in the top remove the screws attacing it on the top. Pull the top forewards fairly hard, and up to remove it and tilt it back out of yur way. There is scerws holding the front to the sides near the top inside edge at the sides. remove them (the bottom has clipps to hold it) and pull up and out to remove the front. If the belt is broke lift up and forewards to remove the tub. The sides will spread a little allowing removal. If the belt is on you will have to unhook it from the tensioner by pulling the tensioner (spring loaded) allowing slack and remove the belt from the tensioner. While it's apart I recomend you remove the rollers (wheels) for the back of the tub and grease the shaft lightly (no squeaks) and inspect them for cracks and damage, replace if needed. It probably is the belt, it's a common problem...

My kenmore dryer won't spin or tumble. The motor runs but no tumbling. I heard a loud bang but didn't know what happened. çould it be the belt?

If the drive motor is still running, the loud bang you heard was either the belt breaking, or slipping off the idler pulley. I will need a model number in order to give you spcific details on how to open the appliance in order to inspect and replace your belt. If you need assistance on how to properly route the dryer belt on to the drive motor shaft and idler pulley, repairclinic.com has dryer belt diagrams listed under their "Special Features" section. Just click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of their web page, to start. You will need either diagrams H, B or K. Its hard to determine which diagram without your model number. Post back with your information and let me know.
