SOURCE: Key remote battery replacement

Make sure that you have the Batteries Installed Correctly. If these Remotes take the Flat Round Batteries, Look and see if it tells you inside the Remote which way to Put the + On the Battery. Most of them have the + at the Top during Install. If it takes the Small Regular Battery, Looks like a Smaller AAA. You will need to Push the Connectors in a Bit Before you Install the Battery to make Sure that It connects with Both ends. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help that I can Get! Thanks!

Goodmans tv is stuck in radio mode, the radio/tv button doesn't change it. How do I get back to tv?

It is most likely that button is damaged. You can change that button and see if it works.

The power on/off button on the remote control works but the channel & volume buttons no longer work

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Remote will no longer power on Onkyo HT-S3500. Once I turn it on manually, the rest of the functions work properly.

I just had this same issue. I tried to change the batteries for the factory remote that came with the Onkyo HT-S3500 (remote: RC-799M). Still no luck. It would not power on with the remote, despite the light flashing and the and all other remote function working. If I powered on the receiver manually, everything worked (except power on/off).
I just pushed a button on the remote labeled "REMOTE MODE RECEIVER" and viola, the remote now powers the device on and off and works just like usual. Not sure what the heck happened, but I would suggest pushing that button on your remote.

Remote no longer controls tv set. Changed batteries and cleaned contacts in remote. . also in the Dish network remote which now no longer works with the set either.

Sounds like you may of changed the frequency of the set or the remote? There may be a button somewhere on the remote or the tv to change. Or possibly there is interfearance from something, have you recently installed something that is wireless like a cordless phone maybe?

The Zenith Digital TV Converter DTT900 needs reprogramming

1) While pressing & holding down the TV POWER button, press CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until your TV is turned on or off. 2) Release the TV POWER button when your TV is turned on or off. *Each press of the channel button sends a manufacturer code (1-45) to your TV, one after the other. Note: You may have to do this every time you change or remove the battery, as the remote will reset itself to the default code.

Viewsonic remote RC00070P

Okay here's the fix.
Remove batteries. Re-install them wrong side in! Don't panic.
Reverse the direction of both the battery cells and install. Press "Power" button a couple of times and a few other buttons a few times. Then remove batteries and re-install the right side in.
Voila.
