Negative weight on Salter Stainless Steel Kitchen Scale

I've got a Salter stainless steel kitchen scale, and after showing 0, the weight display begins counting backwards. I can tare, and it will return to 0, or add items, which will register as weight, but each time it will begin counting down again, until the automatic shutoff for non-use.
Tried replacing the battery, etc. No luck. What to do?

How to reset as scales are not weighing properly and new batteries have been inserted

These scales cannot be calibrated so i'm afraid that it's time for a new set. I think they were first manufactured in 2002 and they have a 10 year guarantee which meas you are out of luck. If you are in the UK, this site is a good place to start looking for another set of All Kitchen Scales

I changed the battery on bathroom scale Salter 987

I had the same problem with my Salter 987 scale. Pull the battery out for about 10 seconds and put it back in. Then push the scale once so it turns on. After the blinking stops, push it once more. The scale will now zero itself. After the scale has zero'd itself it may turn off after a brief moment. It's now ready to use normally. If you're standing on the scale when it's trying to calibrate to zero, it will assume your weight is zero. Don't stand on the scale after replacing the battery untill you first complete the steps listed above.

I have lost my instructions for my Salter glass bathroom scales 9103. I have a EE on the digital mode what does this mean and what can I do to fix it so the correct weight shows

The scales display EE as they are reading a negative weight.

With the scales switched OFF place 2 glass plates on the scales and press ON.

The scales should now display 0g.

If this doesn't work add more weight and try again.

There is also 4 screws on the underside of the scales which hold the weighing bar in place, if you loosen the 2 smaller screws this should relieve some of the stress so less weight is needed to zero the scales.
