NAVIGON 7100 WON'T TURN ON

Turned it off after a trip and everything seemed fine. Tried to turn it on a week later and nothing happens. Tried charging the battery, but the green light came on showing it was fully charged. I would ocassionally over a week try turning it on to no avail. One day I heard a noise and the 7100 came on all by itself without having been touched for several days. Screen came up showing low battery and then went blank. Tried charging again and green light will only come on for about 1 sec then goes out. Left it charging for about 8 hours and still won't come on, with or without the SD card in.

Usually a sign of something draining the battery.
The machine test probably showed the battery could hold a charge and the alternator was charging the battery.
You may need to have someone check for a power drain.
When the key switch is off, there may be a weak short to ground or a relay or component that is using power.

Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.

Check the power source. If the battery of the vehicle has not enough charge, this may happen. Check it. The problem is with its working voltage itsef. OK.

Wont turn on charged it it still wont turn on ,
Try holding the power button while plugging it in. Also try holding the power button while wiggling a mini screwdriver in the reset hole

My Navigon 7100 doesn't turn on! It does get charged though...
I had a similar problem with my 2100Max. I took the SD card out, plug it into my computer and then reinstall it. It works like a charm these last months still.

Navigon 7100 Fatal Application Error
I had the same problem with my unit.

Did you try to reload ALL the files back to the memory card?

This as a slow process,but it seems to go a little faster if you use a card reader.

Format card using FAT option,not FAT32.

I solved this problem.

The backup is just a copy of the files on the SD card. I made one a couple of months ago when everything was working ok. I tried to erase the SD card so I could restore the backup manually. I ran into an error with a SD card file that wouldn't erase. I ended up formatting the SD card then copying the old backup files to it. That took care of the problem and now the Navigon works the way it's supposed to.
