I have taken the printer apart and checked the cables, they are all making good connection.

LOL, thats the problem, i am the tech..... this printer belongs to a customer and i am trying to figure out what part to order.

  • You need to check the formator. This is the board that controls the printer. First make sure that the board gets enough power.

HP Laserjet 4345MFP
Backlight on printer display does not light.
Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible)
The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else.
It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

MFP 2727 is powered and hums when turned on but nothing shows in display panel. Machine goes silent after 20 seconds. Is there a cold reset procedure or other fix

This is due to a formatter failure.

Try an nvram
Try doing a hard or reset or nvram:
1. Turn the printer off
2. Hold down the right arrow and the cancel button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.

if this does not work contact hp, if within 2 years from the purchase date ask for a case number to have the printer serviced under a service note.

No display on hp laser

Does the printer otherwise print? If so, then the panel is dead.

HP Laserjet M2727nf Mfp. How to do cold reset? M2727 not working after microprogram update.

Turn off printer. Hold the CANCEL and > buttons, and turn on printer. When you see Permanent Storage Init release the two buttons. When the process completes you will see the ready message. This will reset ALL menu settings. If you screwed up the firmware update, you will have to replace the formatter. The NVRAM reset won't help you!!!
