Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to some different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then you may want to consider calling a professional plumber. He may need to replace the drain valve or hose.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

What does the display C 8 stand for as i am not able to start the dishwasher

C8 means that at the rinse phase the boiler did not empty.
The reasons are ..
1) the nozzles are blockled
2)Drain pump out of order
3) bad luck
now you must reset c8 from the parameter in order to start again the diswasher

Can start dishwasher but gets stuck on same time and water does not fully drain, can you please advise what solution there is thanks

When you say gets stuck - does the dishwasher stop all together or keeps running endlessly with same time displayed on the display.

Can you try with another cycle like rinse only. Does it complete cycle and fully drain water?

If so, the diswasher heater could be packing up. If you use hot water connection then see if you can increase inlet water temperature and run the normal cycle again.

My GE Adora dishwasher is not cleaning well and the detergent isn't completely disolving. What could be the problem?

Mine has been doing the same thing for about 2 months now.. I tried Finnish brand diswasher cleaner, but to no avail. Try this:

1) Empty your dishwasher, then take out the lower rack.

2) Start a regular cycle. Wait until you hear the jets turning, then open the door. Make sure there is enough water in the bottom - It should be just UNDER the heating element.

3) If your dishwasher is getting enough water, Reset your washer and allow it to drain.

4) Go to the store and get a gallon jug of white vinegar. Start your dishwasher on a regular cycle.

5) Once you hear the jets turning, Open the door and add FOUR CUPS (liquid measure) of white vinegar to the water in the bottom. Let the wash cycle complete.

6) When the wash cycle drains, the rinse cycle will fill. Once the rinse cycle starts, add ANOTHER FOUR CUPS of white vinegar to the first rinse cycle.

7) Allow the first rinse cycle to drain. Let the second rinse cycle complete normally.

I know this sounds too good to be true, but it REALLY DID work for me, this evening as a matter of fact! I also bought some hard water/soap film detergent additive from the store. It was kind of expensive, but I'm using it for a while just in case.

I hope this helps. Like I said, I couldnt believe it when my dishes came out clear again! Also, I turned OFF the heated dry cycle, and just opened the door and pulled out the racks when it was done.

Good Luck!

My Zanussi ZDF231 dishwasher does not rinse properly and I always have to run it twice to clear the silt from the top tray items

Check inside the diswasher to make sure that the bottom screen is clear of any debris. If clear on the last rinse cycle add a pot of hot water to the dishwasher and observe to see if your dishes come out cleaner.
If the come out cleaner you are probably not getting enough water into your dishwasher.
Replace your water inlet valve.

Intake/drain light is flashing

When this happens with my dishwasher it usually means that the drain is clogged with food/debris.  To fix 1) remove bottom dish rack from machine 2) using a small cup, scoop out as much water as possible 3) remove inlet drain cover and unsnap the plastic insert and remove 4) rinse the plastic part and reinstall 5) start machine 6) if light still flashes, repeat steps 3 4 and 5 and restart

Bosch Diswasher not draining

Soyben, you need to check to see if either the drain hose or syphon break at the sink is clogged. The drain motor on this model is not a bilge pump that will remove water from the base. Therefore Im leaning on a restriction somewhere. Other than that you may have to check for debris in the drain sump. Check these areas out first...Catriver...post back
