Bad printing after changing 2 inks also clicking noise not before
Black and yellow were empty, changed the cartridges, now only badly prints other colours and makes clicking noise when printing.. Also cleaned heads, nothing on paper now. no problems before, could it be the new inks ?
Re: bad printing after changing 2 inks also clicking...
Shouldn't be the ink. I assume you have an epson as in the picture. my ink refill kit mentions that "epson intellidge chipped cartridges" require an "ink level resetter" to complete the kit. So if you have these cartridges even once refilled the chip tells the printer the cartridge is still empty so you'll need to reset the chip with the ink level resetter.

Replacing the print cartridges
Make sure the HP all-in-one is on.
WARNING:
If the HP all-in-one is off when the print-carriage access door is lifted to access the print cartridges, the HP all-in-one will not release the cartridges for changing. Damage may occur to the HP all-in-one if the print cartridges are not docked safely on the right side when you try to remove them.
Open the print-carriage access door by lifting from the front center of the device, until the door locks into place.
The print carriage is on the far right side of the HP all-in-one.
1 - Print carriage access door2 - Print carriage
When the print carriage is idle and silent, press down on the end of each cartridge to snap it out of the carriage.
If replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. If replacing the black or photo cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right.
1 - Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge2 - Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print
Gently pull the print cartridge toward you, out of its slot.
If removing the black print cartridge to install the photo or gray photo print cartridge, store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector.
Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
1 - Copper-colored contacts2 - Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing)3 - Ink nozzles under tape
Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Push the print cartridge forward until it clicks into place.
If the print cartridge you are installing has a white triangle on its label, slide the print cartridge into the slot on the left. The label for the slot is green with a solid white triangle on it.
If the print cartridge you are installing has a white square or a white pentagon on its label, slide the print cartridge into the slot on the right. The label for the slot is black with a solid white square and a solid white pentagon on it.
The color cartridges print text that appears black by mixing the three primary colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow) to make composite black. To achieve a realistic black, large quantities of colored ink are used. Because black cartridges use much less ink to create a similar shade of black, they print more pages in black than the color cartridge.
If the color cartridges on the printer are next to empty, you will not be able to get perfect prints at all.
Please have the cartridges replaced to do the printing jobs again.
We have a step by step solution posted on our we site at: www.ccl-la.com/HP.htm The problem is air in the ink lines and the guide helps you purge the air from the system and restore printing.
The Basics manual from HP: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00694908.pdf
Check out page 17 of the Basics manual for detailed instruction on replacing the cartridges.
Make sure the HP All-in-One is on. Caution If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for changing. You might damage the HP All-in-One if the print cartridges are not docked safely when you try to remove them. 2. Make sure you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray. 3. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One. 4. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right.
1 Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge 2 Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print cartridges 5. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot. 6. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print cartridge, store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an airtight plastic container. If you are removing the print cartridge because it is low or out of ink, recycle the print cartridge. 7. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. 1 Copper-colored contacts 2 Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing) 3 Ink nozzles under tape Caution Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections. 8. Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Then gently push on the upper part of the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket. If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot. If you are installing a black or photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot. 9. Close the print cartridge door. If you installed a new print cartridge, the HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet. Note If you have colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input tray, and then try the alignment again. If the alignment fails again, you might have a defective sensor or print cartridge. Contact HP Support. Go to www.hp.com/support. If prompted, choose your country/region, and then click Contact HP for information on calling for technical support.
Fix ink cartridge I had same problem. I must have ran the clean cycle more than 30-50 times over a period of days. That never made any difference. I was about to toss the whole thing but figured I would try one more thing. If it didn't work I would be in no worse shape. Here is what I did. Took an almost empty black cartridge and inject a lot of 100% Acetone to dilute ink. Left some black in it since I didn't want to think it was empty. Inserted this cartridge and ran the cleaning a few time. IT WORKED. I used my word processor program and filled a page with large bold font characters and printed a page or two. Each page cleared more nozzles. After doing this cleaning/printing a number of time, I put in the full good cartridge. Ran the cleaning a few time to eject any of the Acetone diluted ink. Ran the printed page a few time to remove more of the diluted ink. Everything seems to work now.
Try to remove and reinstall the blue and black cartridge and check if you punctured the plastic cap underneath the cartridge itself. then reinstall it and make sure you hear a click or it snaps in. try head cleaning cycle from the utility and print a nozzle check pattern. If same output maybe carts are bad. If that is a genuine epson ink cartridge, call epson and have the ink cartridges replace since they are new ones and for sure epson will send inks since you just bought it. make sure you have date of purchase handy.
pls dont 4get to rate solution if it helps... thanks!!
IT IS POSSABLE THAT THE PRINT HEAD ARE DIRTY THEY HAHVE MATCHING BOARDS TO THE TONER CARTRIDGE BOARDS UNPLUG THE MACHINE AND CLEAN THE PRINT HEAD WITH ALCOHOL IF IT DOESN'T WORK THE BOARDS HAVE FAILED
First... check to make sure you removed the yellow tab from the new print cartridge
put the ink cartridge back into the printer
click Start
click Control Panel
open Printers and Faxes
click (or double click to open) your printer icon
click on Printer menu
click on cancel all documents
Then try printing again.
If this does not work, look in the manual that came with the printer and check out the troubleshooting section.
It is not wise to leave the cartridges empty, causes permanent print-head damage on the empty color area. However, if you want to use the other color, say "black", bypassing the cartridge check is simply resetting the counter of the printer... download the utility file "sscserve.exe" you can search it on the internet. Install it then choose your printer on its list box, then by right-clicking on the printer icon of the utility at the bottom right of your window... you should be able to see what you need. Happy printing!!!
