I doubt there is battery problem, have you tried switching on laptop without battery and connecting through the laptop charger? most probable your battery is not taking the charge. so suggest you to disconnect the battery and try using laptop with charger then you'll find the problem.
You cannot just put an ordinary SIM in there just like that of a mobile phone. You need to subsribe for a 4G SIM or the one that offers HSDPA technology. consult with your local Wireless broadband provider like att or sprint to give you more information regarding that feature.
You might have a defective ac adapter or power related problem on the system board. Go to radio shack and see if they have a tester adapter (most have universal laptop power adapters and you can try in the store to see if this works). If same issue, most like a defective battery or defective system board.
hi i believe what you are facing is as a result of 2 things, the power pack or the motherboard, since you have tried other adapter..i suggest u try opening up the laptop and perceive for burnt smell,..if u cant do it yourself get someone with a bit of experience to help u with it, but definately you will have to replace whichever is faulty
Might as well try to go to BIOS it self , restart computer press F2 and try to clear NVRAM or check if the battery was recognized.

Logged on to the support site of DELL w/c is www.support.dell.com and then Update the specific BIOS update for your system so that the battery will be recognized.
You have either a faulty/worn out battery or a faulty charging circuit.
Recharageable battery have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and over the years the battery life gets shorter and shorter until it is worn out and won't charge any more.
If the battery is more than 2 years old then the battery is most likely worn out and needs to be replaced.
