My LG rear projection TV RE40NZ60RB colour is ghosting with three colours separating. Colour converging does not rectify

There is a problem with the convergence circuit. It can be as simple as poor solder connections at the pins of the convergence IC or a defective IC. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Please confirm the model number of hte set and I'll provide the part numbers etc. required to resolve this.

3D effect caused by failing convergence chips on the internal control board. You will need professional intervention to repair or replace this board or the chips. Often this is in association with other parts that need attention and is not a DIY.

They adjust FOCUS and Screen settings---they have nothing to do with convergence---if you have not touched them---do not---they are not real easy to reset correctly.

What is wrong with the set and what is the model number?

Replace the convergence amp IC's and call a good TV Tech this time. The last tech over charged you about $1000.

Sounds like you may have a circuit problem, the convergence IC's may have failed, the STK's IC's is very common problem with TV's.
