My 1997 john deere just dont run as fast and hard

My 1997 john deere gator with kaw engine just dont run as fast and hard as it used to. I've replaced the plugs, fuel filter, and air filter and still no change...What can I do?

That's a good idea but that wasn't it. I had already checked that with the bed up cruising around I reached back and pulled it all the way on top of the carb with my hand..Any other suggestions?

Check your throtlle cable ... it is very possible that if the engine runs fine just doesn't run as fast as it used to that you throttle cable has slipped in the clamp and you need to adjust it ...

it is possible that your governor adjustment has changed recommend you take this to a small engine shop or the jd dealer

I have a John Deere Gator 825i that that starts hard and once it does start it smokes for a few seconds then it runs clear after that. The engine does not use any significant amount of oil either.

They have a throttle body fuel injected engine. If its hard starting then smokes usually that indicates pour fuel quality or something wrong with fuel system.

How do I deristrict a John Deere gator

sorry but its not recommended, they are set so not to over rev engine causing damage, it will void your warranty and end up costing alot of money to replace engine.
