Will not spin clothing out

Will not spin

  • cmkesmorr Aug 20, 2009

When I purchased the washer used in 2006 the lid switch was bypassed already. We also checked the trannie to motor coupling and that is fine. Hubby and I are still at a loss. The washer cycles just fine, but just will not spin.

Good Question. After I tried to spin the soppy wet clothes out a few times I gave up and told hubby. He unplugged the machine to begin working on it. We were pretty sure it was the trannie to motor coupling. He looked at that an it was in great shape.

Do you hear it click when closing the lid ? Sometimes , the lid switch arm , will work inserting something into it , but not with the lid closed . Try checking it using the lid itself . sometimes , the arm wears to where it has to be pushed farther down to work so the actuator on the lid cannot push it far enough down . Have to replace the lid switch for it to work properly or bypass the lid switch from under the console .

Kenmore washer model #417.42042100 is not spinning the clothes all the way.

First you need to open the cabinet and remove the boot from the tub to the pump and clear the filter. Try that then run a cycle and post back the results.

Machine not spinning due to uneven load balance although clothes are loaded evenly initially

I suggest you stick to the maximum load capacity (or less) of the machine; and not over-load the machine with clothes.
